Father's side of my line:
Grandmother: Lymphoma cancer - died age 49 - non-smoker.
Grandfather: Still alive, age 98 - smoker and whiskey drinker.
Their kids:
Aunt: 65-67 (uncertain) Smoker still alive.

you may be right or you may be wrong but heres my 2 cents.
commercially produced tobacco products like cigarettes are full of toxic chemicals which i believe cause most of the health problems associated with smoking. the toxic chemicals are added during manufacture 'for flavor' yeah right !
if you smoked organic additive free tobacco it might be safer than commercial brands but i still dont think inhaling smoke is good for you.
fyi the natives that used tobacco did not inhale the smoke ! |

A lot of people don't know this but smoking can actually prevent cancer from radioactive dust.
The smoking put your lungs in a defensive mode thus keeping the radioactive particles from lodging them selves in them.

I believe that as well. It's when the doctor told my dad that the surgery had awakened his dormant tumor that his health started downhill.
I know for a fact that for at least 4 generations my family has smoked since their early teens. Perhaps there's a built up immunity to the side effects? |

My brother-in-law, a life-long smoker died from lung cancer right before Christmas. My father-in-law, a life-long smoker, has lung cancer that has metastasized to his bones. He has just been given 2 to 4 months. One of my great aunts died in her 40s of leukemia. Her sister died in her 50s of throat cancer. They were both smokers. My aunt died of COPD from being a smoker. She also suffered from breast cancer and asthma.
Not only that, but scientists now think the honeybees are dying because of tobacco-based pesticides.

If cigarettes get any more expensive, smoking is going to end up becoming a status symbol.
I don't doubt that moderate smoking is good for you. Smoking is relaxing, and it stimulates the brain's ability to remember and to think on a deeper level.
I'm not so sure about chain smoking, though. I'm a frickin' 4 pack a day chain smoking chimney, and my throat is always a bit inflamed. (Nothing in excess is good for you, though. Even drinking too much water can make you intoxicated or even kill you.)
At least I live in a country where I don't have to deal with Nicotine Nazis, and here a pack of Marlboros only costs me $1.30 after taxes. I can smoke in public without anyone thinking anything of it. In fact, usually when I smoke in public, people will come up to me and ask me for a cigarette. I give cigarettes to strangers all the time. Here they are a bit of a luxury item, and I think everyone deserves to have a little luxury in their lives, so I never say no to anyone who asks me for a cigarette.
(I'm a gringa living in Panama, BTW. Whenever I post what the cost of a pack of cigarettes is here, people always ask me where I live, so I thought I'd go ahead and say it now.)

I hear you man, my father died of eumpzema (sp) and my mother died of heart diesease (sp)
I've had plenty of time to think about what may have caused itand the only thing I can come up with is that they ate a shit load of pig fat though out their lives. And really had nothing to do with smoking. My father was a farmer and breathed shitloads of peanut dust .....(that's what I was told any way) I never knew my Father.
But I smoke and it looks like some one may have to tell my late born son that I died from inhaling paint thinner down at the factory,.(bullshit story)

My parents are roting in hell! Liers!
I say fuck them! But I thank them too and Love them.
