Ground lasers hitting airline pilots in eyes. [link to www.canada.com] ...the Calgary airport's tower reported that two approaching aircraft were targeted by a green laser in separate incidents on Feb. 26 as they prepared to land. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2401 United States 04/12/2010 05:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They stand a chance when no sunlight falls on the moon but the power levels would be massive to be brighter than the sunlight reflecting off of it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 131494I call I'll second that. They don't have the power, they don't have the angular resolution and they don't have the contrast. Total |
Returner User ID: 997 United States 04/12/2010 05:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I call bullshit on that. Any Earth-based laser is going to suffer so much diffusion leaving the atmosphere the beam will be too wide to useful. Also, the power requirements would be enormous. I don't think any beer company is quite ready to construct and launch an orbital laser ad platform just yet. |
