then they studied if the textile structure was in accordnance to the religious rites of that time and place..so they took microscopic particles to see..and yes..it had the adecuate amount of different types of textiles that were required according to burial rites..any divergence would have made the cloth not apt for using on a burial to cover a body ..according to the religious practice of that time and place

then they studied the nature of the image istelf..and its 3D imprint..and this is still baffling thescientific community it would seem..due to its unknown origin..which can be partially explained..by stating it seems to be from a blast of sudden Heat/energy that emanated from within the body and scorched the very first..only the very first..microscopic fibres of the cloth

the study was..is absolute minute in detail..nothing overlooked

and many of the scientists were not even believers or Christians

i think PP to please his wife..tried to get Jesus pardoned

because he failed..and the crowd unexpectedly chose Christ to be executed

i think he tried to avoid the humiliation of the crucifixion for Christ..which was the death handed out to the lowest of the low..the scum of the criminals..and the agony..the prolongued agony of hours..waiting for death..sometimes even more

so I think..just my opinion..that he tried to have Christ die during the lashings

so administered extra lashings..to ensure his death..and avoid all the rest

but Christ being Christ..didnt die..because it was His mission to die on that cross

again I have to point out that the forensic evidence alone..is overwhelming

this evidence was hidden..buried in the cloth ..that served as a silent witness..waiting to speak..ironically through man made science..it would open up and reveal the amazing contents..information..data..and so much more..hidden in the shroud..till science helped it to speak..and reveal
