Unless they found out the hostages were in Iran and we already sent in a covert rescue operation. Which somehow will go astray. It's possible. |

Al Sadr is an Iranian puppet, things are not looking good in region right now. This is Iran creating a situation in Iraq which could possibly force US military action to cross Iranian borders, that combined with the increased tension in GAZA heralded by statements there, Syria moving infantry, Hezbollah threatening a revenge attack and pretty much re-armed to the teeth and all the players seemingly resigned to the prospect of war is not a matter of if, but when. I'd say time is coming near for a large scale conflict. Quoting: SHR
Nice of everyone to oblige and play their roles in the upcoming drama. I would have assumed that the Iranians and their militias would have laid low until after bullets started flying.
Here's something that PACNW and his warmongering buddies need to keep in mind- if the Shia militias can competently battle for Basra then it makes sense to think that the Iranians are sending the US a message-
We will disrupt your supply lines if you mess with us.
US troops in central Iraq are in danger of being cut off in the event of an open war. I understand the US strategy and it is high-risk in the event of open hostilities with Iran.
If the Iranian state and military survive the first salvo relatively intact, Iraq will erupt and US troops will be fighting for survival. The Green Zone will be Fort Apache, Iraq and there is a very good chance that Iraq will become the strategic disaster many of us feared it would be when the Bushies started showing their peckers to the Iranians. |
