The Dalia Lama is one of the few people on the planet that actually lives what he believes and teaches to others.

The people of Tibet have suffered much at the hands of the Communist Chinese who have even banned the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama - as if they have anything to say about that.

If the Chinese Communist government goes the way of all other communist governments and crashes, Tibet might have a chance for independence.

They just want to be left alone to live as they choose and if that means being governed by the Dalai Lama, then that is what they should have.
