Do Scottish Men Like American Women?

Also, no disrespect but i see like 5 people a week with red hair and i go about alot see lots of different people so yes the ginger hair thing is nothing but a stereotypical view.

I just got back from a trip to Spain,and went to Cartagena one days, and can tell you there are probably more redheads there than in Scotland.

They're a bit more haughty than your average Scotswomen though, and with feistyness to boot.

Redhair is one of the most popular colors for women to die there hair. Thats why you may see alot of "reheaded women" and far less redheaded men. It isn't as common as one might think. As an Irish American woman I find Scottish men very sexy. I find that many men abroad have serious reservations to say the least when it comes to american women. Even though many of us have alot to offer.

Okay, I'm reading this whole vulgar thread for the sake of my beautiful, virtuous, devout, intelligent RED-HEADED daughter who has gotten the idea lately that she would fancy a husband from Scotland with whom to raise a dozen beautiful red-headed babies. From my reading I'm seeing that red hair only makes up about 2% of the world's population but 3% of U.S. population especially in the Appalachian Mountains where the Highlanders went. I've told her that I suspect all the real Scots were cleared out of Scotland, like our MacQuarries who were transported to the colonies for their part in the Rebellion of '45. But she adored her grandfather (McDonald, McDaniel, McCommas, Neal and Campbell...the rest Welsh, English and Irish) and thinks Girard Butler is gorgeous. Are there any real, red-headed, Christian Scots left in Scotland?

Personally, I've been wondering about the intelligence of what's left. How the heck did Madonna, the cheap wh*re, get a Scottish aristocrat? Oh, yeah, money. Now the blood of that Sicilian fish-monger taints Scottish blood (if he's really Scottish and not Brit.)

I looking for a serious discussion with real Scots who can hold a conversation without profanity.

Not all of us Scots are heavy drinkers. I know very few who are.
also, red head hair doesnt seem to be that common although other bodily hairs can be reddish ;)

personally being Scottish, can't say I have anything against american woman. sounds like a cliche but as long as the woman is a nice person and I found attractive I cant see what the problem would be.

I live 10 mins from Loch Ness which is highly attractive to people from all countries and it s beautiful place.

also I dont have anything particular against the English, I have good english friends. If anything its a sort of friendly rivalry.

I'd say rivalry between Scots and English goes back to hundreds of years ago, The English didnt like the Scots because we had an agreement with France that if England invaded france, Scotland would help and we did, we marched into england whilst they were busy in France.
Scots didnt like the English because of the battle of Culloden and being forced into the Union which we are still trying to break free of. :)

But as I said, I believe its just friendly rivarly, nothing malicious in my opinion.

I have wondered about the typical stereotype. Normally I think they are as silly as blanket statements.

But looking back at relatives I guess there is some truth in them.

Can’t say I personally have anything against the living English. I’m not Amish!  (you might have to look that one up!) I have my share of English blood, and the United Kingdom is our closest ally. I’ve read about what happened after the battle of Culloden. Very sad, but the “Butcher” is dead.

I read that red-headedness is about 8% in Ireland. I did experience an interesting trip to a local mall here. By the way, I live on Patterson Blvd. a short way from where Albany St. and Stewart St. intersect. LOL! My daughter and I sat and observed. It must have been ginger day, as it seemed at least 10% of the people there were reds…many whole families. I’d never seen anything like it. The area I live in has a large population with Celtic roots who relocated from Appalachia. We were wondering if there was a local red gathering, and we missed it. ;)

My mother tells a story about one of my dad’s family reunions. It seems the Neals were inside dancing and having a wonderful time, and the Campbells were sitting outside entirely serious. She went outside and sat down with the Campbell men and asked, “Are the Campbells still as fierce as ever?” They responded, “yes.” She laughs to this day. I met a very nice Scottish man this past year, a Napier, who had immigrated. (Do I remember correctly, are the Napiers part of the Glendenings?) Seems his future wife was studying abroad and he followed her home and married her, so I know some Scottish gentlemen like some American ladies. When I mentioned my Campbells to him, he scowled. Funny! Funny! I know their reputation, but how many hundreds of years has it been? My late father was a gentle man. He’d say he was “a lover, not a fighter.”

I probably didn’t communicate well. I didn’t mean to convey that my daughter expects to bring a Scot home with her. She’s talking of immigrating TO Scotland herself when the time comes. She’s smitten with the terrain, history and her connection to it. I’m not excited at the prospect, but I comfort myself with the knowledge that she’s young and still has time to change her mind. She’s gifted in languages and today she decided that perhaps she might ought to learn some Scottish Gaelic just so she can tell what people are saying about her. We’ve done some traveling and she knows what’s it’s like to “smile, nod and listen for your name”. ;) Again, thanks and blessings.

When I was younger, I never worried about being alone. I was me. No drinking, no smoking, no drugs, no sewermouth AND no sex outside of marriage. I had many marriage purposals from young men who are now doctors, attorneys, engineers, and teachers. I fell in love with the Minister and have been his faithful partner for almost 30 years. Be respectable and they'll respect you. Value yourself and they'll value you. If they respect you AND you don't give yourself away to just anyone, then someone will love you. Not all American woman are facinated with Scottish men, but it is a part of the heritage of many individuals here and of our nation as a whole. As I discussed earlier, the North American colonies received many Scots-Irish as political prisoners and slaves who went on to settle the country as leaders, inventors, politicians, and many ministers, etc. They were heros in our revolution. (Yea! another chance to fight the English!) They are among our founding fathers. They planned and built many of our cities. You benefit from our folklore and history because it is your history as well. So why are you complaining? As far as German and French and Italian, well, I think perhaps WWII has some influence. Some don't care a pin about Scots, either. Nevertheless, we have an incredible Scots-Irish heritage. I listed just some of the Clans who are woven into my family tree in the last 386 years.

You fail at reading comprehension. She said her DAUGHTER was interested in going to Scotland because she hopes to marry a Scotsman. Everyone has their ideal type and it's none of anyone else's business if they pursue their type.

I travel a lot on business, (Europe, Asia, etc), and I can confirm that most of the conversations I have had with the men, pretty much the guys said the same thing:

They viewed US women as obnoxious, obese, loudmouthed, vulgar and unfeminine.

I'm a Texan (haha Texan first, American second) and I love Scottish men!

Craig Ferguson is a cutie. I don't find him sexually attractive but the man always makes me smile. :)

I have a couple of male Scottish friends, just friends, and they're all very nice men. Intelligent, funny, great looking. Just all around great guys, and they know how to treat a woman with respect. So yeah, it's not just in books. Real Scottish men like that do exist outside of the pages.

I'm a black American woman born and raised but I've always liked tall, strong North-European type men; especially the red-haired fair-skinned ones.

I've never been to another county. I'm quite the exception because black American women here typically don't like American whites...but are more lenient towards foreigners. Even I admit I like European-born men better. Maybe it's the accent thing. Maybe it's because they don't have the "I am God" ego, oh I don't know. I don't mean to generalize. I can only speak for myself.

Someone said that highland scott dislike blacks but another person said that when some Scotts come to America the fall in love with black women so I'm kinda confused.
