I'm a Scot living in america and for some reason to us black women are the hottest, they are so exotic, pale skin to us looks dirty like a white car compared to a black car, they also have bodies, I can't explain the attraction.

I *think* Scots Gaelic is derived from Irish Gaelic, and seriously; it is not an easy dialect to learn.

I tried to translate one of my first GLP posts into Scots Gaelic, and it ended up being a mixture of Irish and Scots Gaelic. Took me the best part of an hour until I was happy with the translation I got, plus I had to improvise, I know so little about it.

If it's tough for a Scot, I don't imagine it being much easier for someone from outside of Scotland, unless you're unusually talented in these things. :)

I would guess the first h in 'Tha' would be silent but the one in 'Thu' wouldn't be.
So, "Taa thoo".

I'm just guessing though.

Good for you, sincerely.

You should look forward to getting your tongue round some pretty chewy [or 'teuch' as we'd say in "auld Scots"] words then, but I imagine you'll be used to that.

The "ch" sound in teuch, is something quite a few Anglos have trouble wrapping their gums around.

The French should come in handy though.

Re: Do Scottish Men Like American Women?Quote

Chewy.

It applies to meat, or a steak that takes more chewing than is worth the energy put in.

The first part, "teu" would be pronounced like "choo", but the ending "ch" would be pronounced in the guttural style of Scots or Germanic language.

Kind of like a cat-hiss.

Comprende?

I was speaking about the fact that U.S. customs take the fingerprints of individuals who go there.

The U.K. police doesn't have my fingerprints, 'cause I'm a fine upstanding citizen.. why should someone else have them? :)

It's not about American's not being very trusting, it's about your administration instilling in the populous, that it's perfectly fine to implement practices like that into your way of life and infrastructure.

As a 'foreigner', I don't have to and won't accept that.
No offence intended; I have many friends in the U.S., just none in the U.S. administration. :)
