I know a few people who also say that most foods taste not delicious anymore. Like most candy is actually not good anymore to the taste buds. And most foods just don't taste good enough to really trip your trigger like they used too.

Anyone else notice this??

Is it some chemical they are adding? Or is it monsanto gene altered crops?

Might just have something to do with changes within yourself - getting older etc.

I am 60 and I can sure tell the difference in how things taste to me now as compared to years ago.

Just sayin... don't think we can blame it all on the food its self.

Maybe because a lot of things are really "food" anymore.

They are mostly concoctions of un-pronouncable chemicals.

Maybe..

Do you mean even home cooked familiar recipes? I know as we get older our tastebuds change.. But I haven't noticed a change in home prepared recognizable food lol..

I try and stay away from the processed stuff..

The best way to shop a store is the outside isles.. fruit/veggies/ meat/dairy bread/nuts and only hit the inner isles when looking for something specific. Spice, oil, pasta, flour, yeast, pectin, etc..

I think it is more expensive that way though, and also more time consuming preparing your own things. But it's worth it I think.

I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and I like how food tasted better when I was smoking.

I read somewhere that is you can't smell certain things, it is an early sign of Dementia. This happened to me with Cucumbers. Last summer, they didn't have any smell or taste.

I have been trying to exercise my brain, and I could smell and taste the cucumber this week.

I tried to eat a coffee crisp chocolate bar the other day...first time since I was a teenager. It was absolutely terrible. It's not just my tastes that have changed...it looked entirely different. I recently went to the states and accepted a piece of someone's kitkat. It was a very different sugary taste (or just sweeter in general)and it didn't sit well at all. Maybe my tolerance for chemicals is down but some things just don't qualify for being food anymore.

Thats exactly what I'm talking about.

I buy a candy bar, and usually end up throwing the last part away. They are screwing with the ingredients somehow.

Natural foods taste the same, its the processed favorites that taste different lately.

Yep, I've noticed that for a couple of years OP, the taste in food has definately changed. Whether TPTB have actually tweaked us or the food itself, one can only guess! Most meats these days to me are revolting and when I eat veg these days its like this explotion of flavour that never used to be there in the past. I think they're goal is to turn us al into vegetarians! lol which I suppose is not a bad thing really, more healthy I suppose.

I wonder whether big brother will come over and wipe my arse for me one day? lol I think we're just the guinea pigs to social engineering, which is not a new thing is it?

I can't finish a bag of those snacks anymore, I end up throwing them away. I always used to be able to polish off a bag in one sitting. Now they just don't taste delicious enough to eat anymore. Its kind of like when something was stale or old, I wouldn't eat it, same kind of thing with most processed food lately.

I wish I knew what is going on cause I really liked a lot of processed stuff. I miss it.

I live in Pa and I get most of my food from the Amish.
So it still tastes good...especially the beef, pork and chicken.
Don't get me started on the sausage.

Re: Whats up with most foods these days...it all tastes different
The first thing I noticed is that when all the soft drinks switched from real sugar to corn sweetener, it's still sweet, but there's an aftertaste- not refreshing at all.

The last time I tried fast food, it gave me really bad indigestion. I think it's something in the sandwich rolls- I've figured out I can't handle the gluten added to things.

I read a newspaper article about a toddler with a known dairy allergy who had to get medical attention after eating fast food french fries. They were pre-seasoned, sort of marinated, and one of the ingredients is milk. Who thinks of milk as a french fry ingredient?

It is because YOU changed.. we all are moving to higher frequencies, that is the mvoementof the cells within the body and so lower level foods will taste yukky! Natural will be fine, for it is natural.
I can hardly eat sugar, unless it is date sugar, (finly ground dates).

This is proof of our evolution to a higher form!

this is also proff we cannot have those over processed stuffs anymore...

Re: Whats up with most foods these days...it all tastes different
I was the one who posted before about the soft drinks. I started noticing it in the 70's. Back then, I started drinking diet because it just I sort of expect the taste to be off. But I was sad when 7-Up's formula changed!

The other thing I'm wondering about is it seems like gastric cancers are on the rise.
I had a friend die from esophageal cancer two years ago. A neighbor, age 39 from pancreatic cancer a few years before that. Just recently I've heard of two younger men- one about 27, the other 34. None of these people were industrial workers, or smokers as far as I know- which makes me think of something ingested in the food or drinking water.

You got alot of empty shill replies calculated to make you think you're not right and to introvert you and silence you by taking potshots at your speculative age, but you are in fact correct. I remember what a pork chop used to taste like, I remember what beef used to taste like, I remember what chicken and fish used to taste like, and the ***SHIT*** these bastard sellouts sell us now is cardboard garbage. They feed their animals on sawdust and other industry byproduct fillers and pump them full of salt so they'll weigh more after they're butchered after living and dying perpetually thirsty, then they add still more sodium phosphates to retain that water weight, and inject monosodium glutamate solutions labeled as 'broth' and 'spice extractives' and 'natural flavoring' to trick your mouth into thinking it still tastes like food. I can remember when going to a fast food place like MacDonalds for a 'Big Mac' was a wholesome family treat, not an unevenly microwaved half cold piece of shit that some illegal wetback Beaner SPIT IN when he saw you were white.

I know they are all shills. I just keep posting so they will have some kind of job and it might keep them off the streets and robbing my stuff.

It is really messed up how the next generation won't know how good food tasted.

Even bacon doesn't taste as good as it used to. Its still good, but not as good as it was, like 10 years ago or so.

Its almost like they are selling us that fake bacon that they came out with in the 70s. Can't remember the name, strips or something like that, totally fake crap.

But don't get me wrong, todays bacon is still good tasting, just not as good. But once in a while, once or twice a year, I get a good pound that almost tastes like it used to.

I think it is more expensive that way though, and also more time consuming preparing your own things. But it's worth it I think.

No, I'm a law school student with very little time and/or money. Can't afford to buy separate ingredients and don't have time to cook them, have to buy everything prepared, haven't been to the grocery store in months, usually just get Arby's or Pizza or Taco Bell. When you have 15-20 minutes spare time every day, what you do is not an option. Perhaps you should become overworked.
