Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
Mary Magdalen was said to have been the Bride of Christ. Many of the Gnostic Gospels (revered early on in the Christian Church and later thrown out of the cannon) portray Mary Magdalen as Christ's Most Beloved Disciple, reporting that Jesus often kissed her on the mouth and called her "Woman Who Knows All." Other disciples went to her for Christ's teachings after he died (A). She is portrayed as sitting at Jesus' feet to listen to his teachings (Luke 10:38-42) and also as anointing his feet with oil and drying them with her hair (John 11:2, 12:3). Three of the New Testament Gospels report that Mary Magdalen was at the foot of the cross, and all four Gospels note she was present at the tomb. The Gospel of John notes that after the resurrection, Christ appeared to Mary Magdalen first. Mary Magdalen is mentioned in the New Testament more often by far that Mother Mary.

In The Woman with the Alabaster Jar, Starbird presents a very strong case that Mary Magdalen was perceived by many Christians (up until the 14th or 15th Century) to be the Bride of Christ, who later bore his child. Just as the High Queen Mariamne was known to be a temple priestess, Starbird presents evidence that Mary Magdalen was a princess of Bethany. This Mary of Bethany (sister to Lazarus and Martha) was of the line of Benjamin. She was wedded to Yeshua, of the line of David, in order to fulfill the ancient prophecy that a Son of David would rule Jerusalem and a long period of peace would follow.

Many scholars have documented the fact that Jesus was supported by political zealots who wished to overthrow the Romans and put a Son of David on the throne in Jerusalem. (Numerous Biblical passages also suggest this.) In fact, it is much more likely that Jesus was crucified, not for blasphemy (which was no offense to the Romans), but for sedition. Crucification was the common punishment for insurrectionists, hence the title over his cross, "Jesus Christ, King of the Jews" (B,F *).

If indeed a strong faction of zealots wished to see Yeshua on the throne, he certainly would have been married to a suitable bride. Starbird suggests that the Wedding of Canna, where Jesus turned the water into wine, was actually the symbolic story of his own marriage to Mary of Bethany. "Cana" is the root for "zealot," and the water into wine may represent the new covenant for the people of Jerusalem. (B)

Others believe that Yeshua himself took part in the Sacred Marriage with Mary Magdalen, as the anointing foretold. The Sacred Marriage was a ceremony to renew the land, at times was followed by the death of the redeemer/king who was called upon to sacrifice his blood for the people. (See G) "Mari-Ishtar . . . anointed--or christened--her doomed god when he went into the underworld, whence he would rise again at her bidding. That is, she made him a Christ. Her priestess raised the lament for him when he died. . . . In the Epic of Gilgamesh, victims were told She 'who anointed you with fragrant oil laments for you now' " (D, p. 615).

Anointing the head with oil had Biblical precedent in announcing kingship and was well known to be symbolic of the Sacred Marriage ceremony (B,D *). When Mary anointed Yeshua's head with sacred oil, he foretold his own death: "She has come beforehand to anoint my body for burial. . . . What this woman has done will be told as a memorial to her" (Mark 14:8-9). Immediately afterwards, Judas Iscariot (whose name means "zealot") went out to betray him, for he understood that Jesus was going to sacrifice his life, not rule as king (B).

And that is why we plant Canna lilies on the boulevards and use them in Weddings folks!

It's such a mystery I almost couldn't figure it out!!

Canna Lily Growing Information

Not for the Timid

If wearing bright colors makes you uncomfortable, cannas may not be for you. If, however, you like mixing bright pink tops with teal bottoms, these plants are going to provide many seasons of fun.

Canna lilies have leaves that fall into the "large" to "huge" range and flowers that follow suit. Site these horticultural Titans wherever moderate size shrubs would do, but would simple be too tame. As warm climate foundation plantings, along property lines lieu of fences and at the edges of ponds, reflected in the bright waters.

Experiment with a few cannas and let your imagination go. Don't be timid.

Mary Magdalen was the Apostle to the Apostles, chosen by Jesus as the first to carry the message of His resurrection and victory over sin.

However, the CHURCH is the bride of Jesus. Not Mary. Jesus is not a polygamist. There is only one bride, and we (the church) shall meet Him at the Rapture and wedding supper of the Lamb.

Of course you may ask! And thank you! Jesus's Church: the ones who follow Him. The ones who do the following:
The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven: Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

Good works cannot save you.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do:

Admit you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

Be willing to turn from sin (repent).
Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

(Luke 13:5)
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)

Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Confess aloud:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Pray:
Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

What to pray:
Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ
to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.

THAT church! :)

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
I am Mary and today I would like to speak to you about the false stories told about me and my loved ones for the past 2,000 years. First of all, I was and am the mother of Esu Immanuel, incorrectly called Jesus by some, and now named Sananda Kumara. I WAS visited by Archangel Gabriel and given the seed which was combined with my DNA, Gabriel's and my husband, Joseph's. This Trinity created the very special human being known as Esu Immanuel.

Esu's physical body carried a much higher functioning DNA and vibration than any others on the planet at that time and was therefore able to house the Soul known as Esu Immanuel AND occasionally Christ Michael, Descending Son and Creator God of this universe.

It is time for people to know that Mary Magdalene was and is my beloved daughter-in-law and that she is not nor ever has been the whore or a demon filled psychotic woman that the Catholic Church made her out to be for 2,000 years. They knew it was not true when they said it and implied it in many other ways, but they said it anyway because it did not fit into their plans for total control for ANY woman, even me, to have any recognition for our contributions. Slight recognition for Mary's work and mine only came after hundreds of years of people demanding it or recognizing our work in spite of the church.

Mary Magdalene was from a royal family bloodline, as were Joseph and I and therefore, Esu. Because of family circumstances, Mary was given, at an early age, to Joseph and me to raise as our own. Esu told her when she was a child that when she grew up they would be married. He knew of their destiny together and made sure that she knew it too. Joseph and I knew also. They not only loved each other deeply and still do, but they were and are the greatest of friends.

Another great lie told by the Roman Church is that Esu "Christ" died on the cross for the sins of the world.

It is true that he was crucified, at least symbolically, but he was rescued before his actual physical death and secreted away by Joseph of Arimathaea, two of Esu's brothers and a few trusted others.

Pontius Pilate was bribed and in on the plot and instructed his soldiers not to injure Esu in such a way that might endanger his life. The Jewish Sanhedrin really didn't care if he died or not, they just wanted him out of their way and no longer a threat to their power structure. We knew this and realizing we had already accomplished much of what we came into this life to accomplish, we were happy to leave Israel with our lives.

As for Esu dying for the sins of others, he did not. He could not because there is no such thing as sin in Creator God's eyes. There is only love and the understanding that All That Is is ITs creation and ALL are greatly loved. All are here at ITs beckoning, at ITs invitation and helping Creator God and the All That Is to learn about duality.

After the failed crucifixion, we traveled to Turkey, Italy and eventually Esu and Mary Magdalene went on to Srinagar, India. Mary was pregnant when they made that trip. Sarah, their first child, was born in India. She was one of four of their children who lived. Three others were miscarried.

When Esu, Mary and Sarah returned to Turkey to meet up with our party, who had scattered for three years to accomplish different goals and make finding Esu more difficult in case anyone was looking for him, we went to Alexandria in Egypt before settling in the Langedoc Region in the South of France near Rennes-le-Chateau. It was there that all of us continued sharing Esu's teachings.

Esu adopted the name David Albengentun and spent most of his time teaching local children. Mary and I taught the adults and Mary spent much of her free time writing down Esu's teachings so that they would not be lost. We all knew that he was going to be used by the Roman Church and that many or most of the truth of his teachings would be lost either by misinterpretation or out and out lies.

I died what seemed only a few years after we got to France. Esu died about 15 years later and Mary Magdalene lived and taught another 20 years before she died. All together she and Esu were married close to 60 years even though they were together for their entire lives, except for his 15 year journey from ages 15 to 30.

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
This post is a sad commentary on the author's alienation from God.

Mary Magdelene should not be defamed and The Son of God certainly should not suffer such slander and ignominy.

These are the final days; moments, really.
If you're preoccupied with defaming God The Son, then you are certainly of anti-Christ nature and spirit. If you have ever truly Loved HIM, you need to repent!

There is nothing gnostic about this lie.
Those who Know HIM, witness what they have seen and Know.
Those who don't give false-witness.

The Bride of Christ is comprised of all who give their lives Unto The Father. As John 17:20 Witnesses, together as one:
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me

I warn you against defaming our Saviour. HE is no beast animal. HE took no physical bride.

You are a depraved soul for offering this conjecture OP.

I personally believe Mary Magdalen was Jesus' wife. The Catholic church cannot be trusted with historically correct facts. For 1,600 years the Catholic church taught that Mary Magdalen was a prostitute. It only took them the 1600 years to reveal she was not a prostitue. But a woman of monetary means and among the higher echelons of society at that time.

So what else have they lied about? Ever wonder what's really in those catacombs underneath the Vatican and St.Peter's Basilica?

Jesus was married to Mary, of course they had a sexual relationship (he was given a penis wasn't he?? Why not use the biggest gift 'God' gave you) Mary probably had children. Personally I think he was just a man with a plan, but that's another debate. Im all for the idea that Mary was more special than previously thought (or accepted).

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
Mary Magdalen was said to have been the Bride of Christ. Many of the Gnostic Gospels (revered early on in the Christian Church and later thrown out of the cannon)
 Quoting: Dovespirit

Please give an example.

On Gnostics,I highly doubt you know anything about Gnosticism

I'll give you some examples as many on the internet like to think they were just poor misunderstood people

History tells another story, the pagans considered them
the most vile people on Earth and with good reason

They took the Christian love feast and turned it into orgies.

Because they believed the material world was evil and that "sin" could not premete the spirit they thought it gave them license to commit any and every form of debauchery known to man

The Apostle John directly refutes Gnosticism
in 1John chapter 1

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life

Jesus was no phantom spirit as the Gnostics taught

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1John1:8

Gnostics claimed that sin could not permeate spirit, and so, they could sin with impunity since sin could not taint their spirit.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1John 1:10
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
It is said the Mary Magdalen, BLOOD LINE IS IN SCOTLAND.WOW

Like pearls from an ancient lover’s gift, Magdalene sites and legends lie cast across a vast expanse, reaching from Ethiopia, Palestine, Egypt, France and north to the highlands and isles of Scotland. Crumbling chapel ruins, great Gothic cathedrals, caves, symbols carved in stone, and stories of her coming and going remain like fragments of an old story necklace, waiting and waiting and still waiting to be found.

Magdalene can currently be seen rising out of a long, imposed sleep. Like the story of Sleeping Beauty, she and her people have been ‘drugged’ into unconsciousness for two thousand years, by an extraordinary effort to suppress ‘the other half of the story’, Her story. From the moment that Peter’s Church formed the ‘rock’ and foundation of Christianity, she was written out of accepted doctrine, save for references to her as sinner, a woman from whom seven devils were removed by Jesus, and the one who dried the sweat on his body with her long hair. Peter’s religious authority stemmed from the church’s acceptance that he was the first disciple to see Jesus appear after the crucifixion. Yet, three of the gospels claim that Magdalene was the first to see him in the Garden. The sacred Grail pattern, that requires presence of the feminine, was severed at the core during the founding of the Church, yet the pieces are revealing themselves to any who choose to awaken.

Sacred Sites and Nature’s Temples

Many significant pilgrimage sites across the world are built upon the ruins of earlier temple structures, the locations chosen strategically for the natural earth-spirit currents already present. Common to spiritual centers such as Chartres, Glastonbury, Rosslyn, Iona, Glen Lyon, Sedona, and Mayan and Aztec pyramids, we find numerous crossing energy currents, or ley lines, underground water streams, caves and places of great beauty and power. These are places of pilgrimage, spanning thousands of years. This is certainly the case with Roslin Glen with its winding River Esk, many caves and rare varieties of flora. When walking through the glen, one senses that this is a place of both sanctity and magic, and it is this sense of the sacred that provided original inspiration to build temples at these locations.

Rosslyn Chapel’s carvings read like a 3-D dictionary of numerous varieties of flora, including mysterious representations of aloe (or agave) and maize. The prolific images of plant and flower varieties found in many Templar-related sites reflect some varieties flora unknown in the north, but native to the Middle East and beyond. The Sinclair clan claim that their ancestor, Prince Henry Sinclair sailed to America in the last decade of the 1300’s, about 100 years before Columbus (whose ships flew the Templar banner with the flayed red cross), and founded Templar sites in Nova Scotia, Rhode Island and Virginia.

Magdalene and the Mary Chapels

Barry Dunford, author of ‘Holy Land of Scotland’, who we interviewed in Fortingall, Scotland spoke about the Mary Chapels and alignments through the heart of Scotland. He said there is a straight line connecting Montrose (mount rose), on the eastern coast, through the St. Mary Churches at Grandtully and Fortingall to the western Isle of Iona. Another alignment runs from the east at Marywell, through Fortingall to Tobermory (Well of Mary), close to another key Mary Chapel at Dervaig, Isle of Mull. These lines indicate an ancient pilgrim’s path, full of ‘birthing Mary’ images and legends.

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
For anyone who wants the truth on Gnostics read "Pagan Rome and the Early Christians" a well researched book by a non-Christian that sheds light on the true evil of the Gnostics and what the pagans thought of them
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Re: Magdalen as the Bride of Christ
If Jesus was not ressurected, then Christianity is a sham.
Why would you be interested in a liar, and who he married two millenia ago?
It just sticks in your craw to think that Jesus was God, eh?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 270862

The true message of Jesus was that we are all a part of God and capable of becoming like him. He was just a "wayshower"- the great example not the great exception- like others before him Buddha, Krisna, Lao Tse:

Philippians 2:5- "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus".

John 14:12- "Greater works than these shall you do"
