Yeah I agree they are good and I remember listening to them back then, but you can't say they kickstarted the grunge movement. Helped, sure. But what about Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, etc... Be aware of what you KNOW and what you BELIEVE. Don't ever let what you believe block the path of knowledge, for knowledge is truth. Belief is a temporary crutch at best, and crutches are for disabled people. |

In a sense Neil Young started it way back in the early seventies! But Dinosaur Jr. was the bridge that gapped Sonic Youth and Nirvana. They sound more like Nirvana than anyone else but they get no credit. They even continued throughout the Grunge era and had a big hit in the U.S. Feel the Pain in 93. Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA Some say the end is near. Some say we'll see armageddon soon. I certainly hope we will. I sure could use a vacation from this Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of Freaks. |

I saw one of the last shows of the original trio (Feb 1989 Alston MA) and several of the reunion shows recently. As good as ever. Yr Living All Over Me is great...the best guitar rock record ever probably, but you wouldn't want to miss the one after it BUG, which has their anthem Freak Scene. And you are so right. Nirvana stole their loud-soft thing (NOT invented by the Pixies, but rather by Dino Jr) |

So Beyond is even newer. My new phase is just listening to the 2 cd's of theirs and only those-- On the media player, cd in the car and mp3 player when jogging. Can't get enough of their sound. Green Mind and Bug will be the next purchases. Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA Some say the end is near. Some say we'll see armageddon soon. I certainly hope we will.
