My questions
a) To whose benefit is this technology?
b) How do you design technology that has unknown result?
c) How do you get funding for technology yielding unknown result?
d) Who is accountable for an unintended consequence having global impacts?
This whole ill-advised venture smacks of provided requirement.

I know very little about high energy particle physics but I do know the US military. If they are funding the project they are interested in pure science and in weaponizing any scientific development which can be weaponized.
Very interesting OP, keep us apprised. Some of us are receptive to your speculation and impressions. |

This is sounding more and more as the plot of "Half Life" or even "Doom".
Can you OP tell me if they ever found what happened to those electromagnets that broke down "due to unexpected forces" during the tests in 2007, that delayed the whole thing? |

Are the requirements for the crygenic applications for the collider more demanding than for spacecraft?
Absolutely yes. each magnet weights 1920 tons you do the math on the number of lbs. alot of that weight is ballast for rigidity but we use hundreds of gallons of liquid helium. fortunately we have on site refrigerators that reuse this expensive gas.
About the security level.
10 months ago the security level did change from just having a
rent a cop in a booth to full armor military checkpoints. you cannot access certian points without getting iris scanned here. I believe parts of this project are being classified. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 410574

I can tell if he is actually a person that works there with cryogenic piping. I worked at a company that designed the cryogenic systems that are in use around the World, like NASA, General Dynamics, etc.. (I was one of the Designers)
"physicist" please tell me what is attached to any one section of the cryogenic pipe? That is; the pipe between the flanges that make up a section.
And with the correct answer I can determine if this  or not! |

d) - If humans have been unable to find those responsible for 911 when it is so patently obvious to even the lowliest truth seeker, then those that are responsible in the human ranks are not too worried about the consequences. The beings that have been imprisoned/ quarantined here are not even vaguely concerned with the end results to others on earth. They seek release before their demise and are most dangerous and reckless.
Earth humans will most definitely need help from beyond their veil in order to prevent this as this is larger than them at this late stage and there is extreme desperation involved. The so-called alien wars continue. The dark one's can never win but they will try to create much destruction and will try to take as many out as they can while cornered. This is not science fiction anymore.

Everyone she showed it too, including me is dismayed and since everyone knows how I am into science and weird stuff, especially conspiracies and black holes, (you are saying not to hard to believe someone who frequents glp would be into weird stuff) everyone was teasing me and I was trying to be funny when I said must have been a wormhole loop or something like that but I have been following that John Titor thing and especially now with the latest developments regarding CERN, I just had to ask? Noone had remembered anything like that ever happening and if it would have been just the products which had apparently slipped behind the shelves, but the letter coming right then the same day and all the products being the same year as the letter 2003, its got me wondering? |

You misunderstood me. Humanity can't handle the tech we ALREADY have. It's like putting monkey in charge of a jet. Laws are miles behind the technology. People are stressed and weird about things like cell phones and aircards. It's like zoolander, where the two models beat the computer for files.
