anyone who believes the earth is only 7000 years old is a moron.

if you're reading this and you believe such nonsense, yes, I'm calling you a moron to your face. you are an imbecile. an idiot. a retarded chimp. an indoctrinated lunatic.

there are plenty of christians who don't believe such nonsense. learn from them.

Amen to that. I almost feel as if humankind as a whole is on the verge of evolving into a higher consciousness. Those that support the 7,000 year old Earth theory are doing nothing but holding us back. The religious extremists collectively buy into their false religions and by doing so are attempting to fulfill their prophecy. That is why I feel so many support war and death in the middle east because it gives credence to the end times and presents them with the scenario that they will be raptured away from this earth and whisked away to some magical place in the sky while the rest of us burn in hell for eternity.

Eh, I enjoy fairy tales just as much as the next guy, guess I'm lucky that I finally rid myself of believing in the same thing after being indoctrinated with this shit for almost 20 years.

When you grow up in the deep south in Alabama, you realize how fake, corrupt and hypocritical most are around here that believe in this madness. At the baptist school I attended growing up, I was preached to daily, I was told daily that little boys like myself would burn in hell for eternity. Not a week went by that I was not in the principles office getting hit with a ruler by a 350 lb. self proclaimed Christian who seemed to get off on making little boys cry. Turns out this same man had an affair with his secretary and later left his wife for her. In my senior year in high school, 4 girls were kicked out because they got pregnant. That same year our assistant football coach knocked up the married librarian, both of their services were retained.

I truly have no doubt that those that believe this whole 7,000 year old earth theory are amongst some of the biggest dipshits walking this planet. Stay the fuck out of my way and you won't get stepped on. I have nothing but disgust for your kind.

So if the Pyramids were built today, hypothetically, with rocks that will last a billion years, then the structure would last a billion years in some form? Pyramids we know today are 4000 years old and crumbling away slowly. In 4 or 5000 years they will be gone. Rocks weather and corrode much quicker than a billion or a million years. Thats what I'm driving at in all this.

The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world. Psalms 19:1-4

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20
 Quoting: Lady Wolf

The evidence for a religion can hardly be found in scriptures.

The reason for that is simple, there are hundreds of religions many with their own scripture. Each of those scriptures (or interpretation of those scriptures) claim that all other beliefs are crap and that other gods are false idols.

Hence to prove a religion it is indeed needed to have "miracles" happening. Eg if god is so nice and loving why doesn't he just appear infront of people (or a reflection or whatever) when they pray? Anything less is just mean and evil.

Remember we are talking about billions of people being eternally doomed (and we complain about a bit of waterboarding kek) because that fucker is to lazy to do so.

Look into Harold Camping and see what he has to say. I think he is like the Einstein of the Bible. His time frame adding it up with other things that I have researched is pretty darn accurate in my opinion.

I am lazy, do you have a link. Actually, I am in the middle of writing up a book on the entire Genesis thing. I have been at it for several years. There is so much there as to be an incredibly rich fount at so many differnt levels, even quantum mechanic, quantum dynamics, even into genetics. It is so awesome when you really dig down into it, words can barely describe. And none of the other so called "creation stories" even come within 6,000 light years of it.

... oh, lol, I don't know about that... and as in like, just how long is a 'heaven and earth generation'?

As in, "These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created." You mean like those generations?

If you can calculate the distance of a star then you can be sure that the universe was at least around the time required to reach our planet.

And yes there are several ways to calculate the distance of a star or galaxy to our planet.

If the sun is so far away and light takes so long to reach us then how come during a total eclipse of the sun, the lights go out instantly (and heat)?

12. Not enough Stone Age skeletons.
Evolutionary anthropologists now say that Homo sapiens existed for at least 185,000 years before agriculture began,28 during which time the world population of humans was roughly constant, between one and ten million. All that time they were burying their dead, often with artifacts. By that scenario, they would have buried at least eight billion bodies.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 413185

I think they were buried with the millions of Jews that have been "genocided" in Jewish tales of fiction they claim as real - yet NO BODIES HAVE EVER BEEN FOUND.

I know this may be difficult to grasp, but the pyramids are *NOT* a natural formation.

They did not arise from the ground on their own. Those rocks were cut from the ground, and placed there by people.

As such their load & weight contribute to their weathering, and the fact that they are nolonger sheilded by young stone.

Nice try, but that's a rather piss poor example.

It was six minutes prior. Sigh. Look light is photons grouped together in a massive wave from the sun. It takes sunlight 6 minutes to reach the earth. The distance from the moon to the earth is 384,403 km. Light travels at 299,792.458 km/s so as you can see the approximate lag of one second.

The distance from earth to the sun is 146,000,000 km to 152,000,000 km (Remember earth's orbit is *not* a circle, but an elipse) so at it's shortest distance sunlight will take 380 seconds (approx) or 6 1/3rd minutes to reach us.

As for the lights going out instantly think of light as a stream of water and when you've interrupted it, it will cut out instantly. It doesnt matter how many thousands of km that water had to go through between the river, water planet, pumps, pipes to your house, the fact that you can turn it on & off doesn't take into account it's travel to you, you are only measuring the immediate.

Likewise if the sun were to explode we wouldn't notice for another 6 1/3rd minutes.

The best example of this I've witnessed (as have millions of others) is a space shuttle launch. Light travels much faster than sound, and can be observed when the booster rockets ignite. You can see them light, and the shuttle to start to clear the tower before you can hear them. Even though at the launch platform both happened at the same time.

I started to respond to this post, but felt any attempt at refuting it would be lost on the op. This is after all, someone who believes the earth is 7,000 years old. I imagine grasping the simple concept of structural integrity and the degradational forces that would cause its destruction over time would be completely foreign to the op.

Bottom line, the pyramids were constructed out of limestone, a sedimentary rock composed mainly of calcite, but also can contain dolomite and aragonite. Weathering forces, over time will cause the structual integrity of the pyramid to deteriate. There is no way, no matter how good of an architect one may be, to make a structure that will last for a billion years.

Your logic regarding the construction of the pyramids is severly flawed, much similar to your logic regarding the age of the planet.

Carbon dating works perfectly for stuff that lived and died till around 80000 years old.

Besides that we ample of evidence that the earth is older then 8 or 10 thousand years, we have for example those stalagmites in caves, which if you open that contain year rings (a new deposit of minerals every certain timespan), there is radiometric dating and the list could go on and on.

The notion that you would call every dating mechanism "carbon dating" shows only your ignorance.

I don't believe anything monumental in this world happens by chance.

Just like I think OS of 9/11 is BS for all coincidences it doesn't explain, that's how I feel about anti-Creationist ideas.

I don't think human life is a meaningless coincidence

It's funny how athiests don't think they are exercising blind faith in the science they have used to denounce religion.

If one doesn't think science can be fabricated look no further than NIST and the rest of the pseudo-science surrounding events like 9/11.

Carbon dating an entire universe is a preposterous idea.

That is unquantifiable data.

Christianity has been under attack since its existence and the more evil and deception I see, the more I believe its validity.

I guarantee Zionists were behind these Bible bashing scientific theories
 Quoting: ATTC

I think this goes to the heart of the problem. It drives the Creationists. They think any scientific evidence that contradicts the Bible is part of a deliberate, sinister agenda to undermine religion.

Galileo invited the Church to look into his telescope to see for themselves but they refused and remained blind to the truth, preferring to blindly follow the Bible instead.

It took 500 years for the Church to accept Galileo's findings. They Church will eventually give ground to science regarding the age of the Earth. Until then intelligent people everywhere will just have to tolerate the quaint superstition about a 6000 year-old Earth.

I could introduce you to Mohs hardness scale, but I'm affraid it would destroy your world. For in your world, Talc & diamonds are of the same strength, and thus weather at the same rate.

What a curious planet you do inhabit.

Tell me, is the use of industrial diamonds forbidden?

If not, why are they permitted?

Maybe this will explain in Layman's terms to you why you cannot use Pyramids as the subject of your theory.

If a 'rock' is buried under ground, there is no system to weather it (no wind, rain or sun). Therefore it will remain in it's state of 'rockness' for an indefinite period of time. (normally millions of years, until it finds it's way to the surface)

Once the rocks were quarried for the Pyramimds, they became susceptible to weathering, which has occured over time. You are correct in thinking that the rocks will weather away before millions of years has passed, but wrong in thinking this is true for all substances on earth.

Again, if a rock - limestone, granite or other is under a mountain for example where it was formed by huge compressive forces due to plate tectonics, it will not erode unless there is some erosive force acting upon it.

Take a beach, it has billions of grains of sand. This sand used to be rock which is now eroded by the wind and rain and the sea grinding it together. This sand, over time, will form sediment at the bottom of the ocean or be blown over land to settle under soil. Over many years, and I'm talking millions of years here, this sand will be compressed again into rock or even be melted into glass by the heat and pressures of the Earth.

This is a cycle, it happens constantly and will happen until the Earth burns itself out.

You do not seem to understand that rocks under the ground do not 'turn to dust' as easily as you think.
The important thing is not to stop questioning - Albert Einstein.

Sure, the earth is billions of years old, and soon, 12 foot tall aliens will be landing on earth, to tell you they are extraterrestrials.
Whatever it takes to prove there is no God.
If one is blind, then they cannot see. Words do not create light for the blind, only the Spirit can do that.
If one is adamantly against the truth, no amount of light will illuminate them.
In an absolute, there is no way one can prove the age of the earth, one way or another. I can't prove it is 6983 years old, but I can't prove without an absolute doubt, that the earth is 20 billion years old either. It is what somebody takes faith in.
It is simply a choice of the mind.
When you die, you will go where you choose to follow.

So what you're saying is: Nothing can be absolutely proven.

According to some of the oldest writings known to men, there were people who thought just as you pretend to.

The earth split open, water gushed out and all of them were killed horribly.

There's a lesson there for you personally.

If this is meant to scare me, I can assure you it didn't work. I believe the flood happened, but not on such a grand scale, plus the Ark is nonsense (unless they kept DNA somehow with lost ancient knowledge). I believe it happened and I believe it killed a lot of people. But innocent people died too, believers died too.

When was the last time you heard of unexplainable things happening to 'bad' people? Probably this flood was the last time.

In my experience, it seems the 'bad' people dont get any worse treatment throughout their life than the devote belivers who do everything 'right'

I want to do what is best for the Species of Humans that are my family. I want to be a moral person who cares for others, but I don't need a reward like eternal life to be good. I think it is the end when my brain dies. But I am not sad, I am happy becasue I saw this life and was conscious of myself. I was and I am.

I doubt you'll feel the same way when you're about to die.
The one thing they don't tell you and the one thing always forgotten is that regardless of whether or not you'll be back... death is the most awful thing one can ever experience.

You say my comments do not scare you. That's fine. Similar comments did not scare people in Noah's time, but you can rest assured that when they heard the Earth's crust ripping, when it all wouldn't stop, and when they saw the sky end -- in a matter of moments -- they experienced the kind of fear not often repeated.

It's a kind of fear so potent -- it is risidual. It survives without the memory of death because death itself is not retained in the ethereal engram.

If I were you I would pray that my aloof and irreverent denials, my determined and deliberate opposition, my wicked suppression of truth -- does not result in a very sudden and very present reminder of a past trauma, because there aren't many effective ways to describe what I mean.

Please do not tell me how I will feel before I die. I think I would be inhuman if I did not feel human emotions. Yes I feel fear of dying, but no fear of Hell, or excitement of Heaven. I accept that it is the end when I die, for all things.

If you can call me all those things, Wicked, aloof and opposed then what are you? Yes I am standing by my beliefs, I am looking at the facts laid out before me and I am choosing the most acceptable to me. I am trying to explain how my thinking works to you all. And I think I am right.

I'm telling you how you will feel when you die because it is the way others who have spoken like you felt before they were ended.

You have a callous and ugly policy which amounts to nothimg more than rejection of truth.

This why your death will be as horrible as can be arranged.

You must be a sad person inside to wish such horror on a person.

No. I'm just a person who believes in justice.

And what, exactly, did I do wrong that deserves death in the most horrible way as can be arranged? Do all non-believers deserve this fate?

You are reasonably intelligent and yet you choose to ignore all that is obvious in favor of abject lies and untruths. Furthermore, you actively deploy these untruths and you do it in such a way so as to appear reasonable. This is most despicable.

You deny people the opportunity to return to the father.

There can only be adverse consquences for you.

'return to the father' so he is not here with you? the contradictions within your religion leave me unable to believe.

You want me to be 'ended' and you think it will be in a rather bad way.

What happened to your 'Love thy neighbour' Commandment?

Dont you see that religions seperate the species of Homo Sapiens? It is the main cause of wars and death, yet you call it a beautiful thing.

I'm not one who hangs on every word of the dogma you attribute to what you've called Christianity.

My understanding is a lot less complicated.

There exists a virus that must be quarantined.

In order for people to avoid being mistaken as part of the offending phenomenon they must observe the will of the father.

They can't do that if they don't believe he exists and they won't belive he exists if you convince them he doesn't, so all you're really doing is preventing the children from returning to their father.

This is why you must be ended.

You have a serious fear problem.

You wish to kill all that don't believe in your idea of God? You think I'm preventing people from going back to their father, but all I am doing is presenting the facts on the other side of the argument. People will make up their own minds...

You walk blindly.

You need your decisions made for you.

You retaliate with anger and aggression.

You are threatening me with your 'You must be ended' statements.

You live in fear of 'hell'.

You need some love.

Don't threaten me again, anonymous coward.

Another post of quality. At least the scientific answers are mostly cogent and well thought out. You, sir, need to get back on your medication.

Re: The World is only 7000 years old
So if the Pyramids were built today, hypothetically, with rocks that will last a billion years, then the structure would last a billion years in some form? Pyramids we know today are 4000 years old and crumbling away slowly. In 4 or 5000 years they will be gone. Rocks weather and corrode much quicker than a billion or a million years. Thats what I'm driving at in all this.

Intelligent answer. However, fossilized rock - for example dinosaur footprints, cannot possibly have been exposed or made for the length of time claimed.

That's why they aren't exposed.

Fossils spend most of their time underground. Perhaps deep underground. We discover them when the weather erodes down to them, or humans quarry down to them.
