Re: The World is only 7000 years old
"Carbon dating is a human creation and therefore flawed"

And the bible was written by humans ....

That's like saying history was written by man..history still happened. God still gave the Word to man to write it down as proven many ways.

You have no proof that the bible is the word of God, just some human's telling you it is. Humans tend to lie, especially when power and control are involved.

Yes history was written by man, and is very flawed too in my opinion. It happened, but what is recorded as history is not necessarily the truth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 186361

YOU have no proof of the Word of God. I do as I've read it and know how to verify the Word.

The first way is,if there is a creation there is a Creator. He is Creator Father God. Right in the Ten Commandments.

4th Commandment "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

Another way is by reading what is written, the prophecy that only the Creator God knows, revealing the end from the beginning. There are several prophecies about world kingdoms that have happened and are happening.

Then there's archaeology that does prove the Word of God repeatedly. Many finds have been kept from the public.
[link to www.wyattmuseum.com]

Then there is an element of faith. You will not get a picture of God as somehow proof you think you need. Many, as recorded, had direct contact with their Creator God (Adam and Eve,Exodus Israelites, many others) yet they still sinned. They knew without a doubt there was a God and they still sinned. We have all we need to confirmour Creator Most Holy Father.

Basically that is what this thread is about, proving the Creator, which the Jesuits are trying so desperately hard to discredit, so that you will follow the pope and be lost.

Re: The World is only 7000 years old
I'm sometimes stunned how people can think the world/universe is only 7000 years old....

The scientific proof is everywhere. Fossils? Geology? Carbon Dating?

Just looking through a telescope proves that the whole universe is billions of years old. Light takes millions of years to reach us from most stars. If the universe is 7000 years old, How can we see the stars?

Can't trust NASA or the Jesuits with stellar theory, better stick with testable lab science.
How much salt in the ocean?
How much mud from erosion in the ocean?
How much has Niagra falls eroded?

I dont have to trust NASA or the jesuits for the speed of light. It's a fact, independantly proven. This is what I based my arguments on in the above quotation.

The rest of your questions were debunked in a previous thread.
 Quoting: Clavain

The points have not been debunked, ever.

While checking into those add the polystrate fossils.

This fact of light arrival has always been the same date to determine speed or has it changed with the age of the earth? The sun and universe are dated by the age of the earth.

Evolution Dates the Sun by the Evolutionary Age of the Earth

Astronomers for several generations have stated that this is the only real reason the sun is believed to have an age of billions of years.

Whatever actually occurs in the sun—whether fusion only, or fusion with a degree of contraction—the sun's presumed age is based ultimately on the alleged age of the earth. Eddington made this point repeatedly: "Geological, physical, and biological evidence seems to make it certain that the sun has warmed the earth for more than 5 billion years" (Eddington, 1959, p. 162). In context, the "physical" evidence to which Eddington referred was nothing more than the supposed geological and biological "evidence" that the earth is old......The age of the older rocks [of the earth] is found to be about 1,200 million years. The sun, of course, must be very much older than the earth and its rocks (Eddington, 1929, p. 96).....The evolutionary ages of the oldest terrestrial rocks have expanded since Eddington's time from 1.2 billion years to some 3.8 billion years (Milton, 1997, p. 17).

They date the universe by the age of the earth.

Evolution Dates the
Solar System and Universe
by the Evolutionary Age of the Earth

Hartmann claims that, "The age of the solar system is 4.6 billion years. This figure has been derived from studies of rocks from three planetary sources: the meteorites … the moon, and Earth" (Hartmann, 1983, p. 119). There appear to be three independent dating sources (the meteorites, the moon, and the earth) referenced here, but in fact the age of the moon is worked out to agree with the earth's alleged age (Hammond, 1974, p. 911; Fix, 1999, p. 186), and that of meteorites is worked out to be slightly older than the earth (Fix, 1999, p. 335).

LOL, so all the civilizations and different species that lived before that time were put here on Earth to test your faith, right?

There are no species or civilizations which existed on Earth before that time.

?? So again dinosaurs, reptilians, bugs... All different life forms which we can now discover and examine were put there just to annoy you??

Are you ********?

How about the Egyptians? It has been proven that the position of their pyramids matches the position of the stars of 12000 BC.

How about the minor tribes and societies that have been proven to be old as much as 70000 years?

I mean, really, you people should from time to time read some books, and not just that one with special fairy tales.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 413175

There wereno stars 12000 years ago so the pyramids do no such thing.

The evolutionist can't date tribes or anything else with the geocolumn that was formed 4400 years ago in a global flood.

The fairy tales are in your textbooks.

There are mountains and canyons of evidences for a global flood. This global flood destroys the geocolumn dating method.

Okey, a quick question...

Where did the water for this global flood come from and more importantly where did it go afterwards?

(And please restrain yourselves with answers like "God" did it, it is childish and inapropriate for an adult discussion)

And this is what the Bible says happened:

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. Gen.1:6

The water then ran off where it is today in the oceans.

I do not care whether the sun and universe is aged based on the earth. My argument is based on the speed of light (c). If we can prove that a star is x distance away from us, then the light takes: x/c = time. This gives us the time which has been found to be millions of years. If we can see these stars, then surely millions and billions of years have passed for us to see them? Logically, the earth would be roughly the same age as other planets which have been discovered too?

-The oldest rocks which have been found so far (on the Earth) date to about 3.8 to 3.9 billion years ago (by several radiometric dating methods). Some of these rocks are sedimentary, and include minerals which are themselves as old as 4.1 to 4.2 billion years. Rocks of this age are relatively rare, however rocks that are at least 3.5 billion years in age have been found on North America, Greenland, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

(note radiometric dating is something entirely different then carbon dating).

If that is all you have and you hang all your world views on it, while all else shows a young universe/earth then you are grasping at straws. If everything else agrees with the Bible (and it does) then the stars were stretched out as the Bible says:

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. Jer.51:15

This could have happened at creation. Just like we can't see creation we can't see the stars stretch out, neither can you show a big bang. Yet it is possible the Creator stretched them out and with that the light.

All else shows young earth and universe, canceling out your starlight theory. The redshift doppler shows they are all moving away from earth meaning they started here, meaning the light is constant but the stars travel is not.

That is not how science works. If you have any proof of something older please present it.

Other then that there is evidence from other objects in space and such.

Great to see some other independant evidence. =)

Radiometric dating only works in a closed environment. Piles of porous rocks exposed to acid rain will cause errors just as an open hour glass will.

Watch the earlier posted video by Prof. Veith Rocks?

The rock layers are sediment from flood deposites.

Besides the lack of erosion between layers of alleged time, there is on every continent a universal chalk layer from the flood.

As discussed in Chalk Facts by C. S. Harris and Scholle et al. (1983), the Chalk Formation consists mostly of coccolith biomicrite. A biomicrite is a limestone composed of fossil debris ("bio") and calcium carbonate mud ("micrite"). The majority of the fossil debris comprising this chalk consists of the microscopic plates, which are called coccoliths, of microscopic green algae known as coccolithophores. In addition to the coccoliths, the fossil debris includes a variable, but minor, percentage of the fragments of foraminifera, ostracods, and mollusks. The coccolithophores lived in the upper part of the water column. When they died, the microscopic calcium carbonate plates, which formed their shells settled downward through the ocean water and accumulated on the ocean bottom to form a thick layer of calcareous ooze, which eventually became the Chalk Formation.

Re: The World is only 7000 years old
Sure, the earth is billions of years old, and soon, 12 foot tall aliens will be landing on earth, to tell you they are extraterrestrials.
Whatever it takes to prove there is no God.
If one is blind, then they cannot see. Words do not create light for the blind, only the Spirit can do that.
If one is adamantly against the truth, no amount of light will illuminate them.
In an absolute, there is no way one can prove the age of the earth, one way or another. I can't prove it is 6983 years old, but I can't prove without an absolute doubt, that the earth is 20 billion years old either. It is what somebody takes faith in.
It is simply a choice of the mind.
When you die, you will go where you choose to follow.

So what you're saying is: Nothing can be absolutely proven.

 Quoting: Clavain

According to some of the oldest writings known to men, there were people who thought just as you pretend to.

The earth split open, water gushed out and all of them were killed horribly.

There's a lesson there for you personally.
