So if the Pyramids were built today, hypothetically, with rocks that will last a billion years, then the structure would last a billion years in some form? Pyramids we know today are 4000 years old and crumbling away slowly. In 4 or 5000 years they will be gone. Rocks weather and corrode much quicker than a billion or a million years. Thats what I'm driving at in all this.

I started to respond to this post, but felt any attempt at refuting it would be lost on the op. This is after all, someone who believes the earth is 7,000 years old. I imagine grasping the simple concept of structural integrity and the degradational forces that would cause its destruction over time would be completely foreign to the op.

Bottom line, the pyramids were constructed out of limestone, a sedimentary rock composed mainly of calcite, but also can contain dolomite and aragonite. Weathering forces, over time will cause the structual integrity of the pyramid to deteriate. There is no way, no matter how good of an architect one may be, to make a structure that will last for a billion years.

Your logic regarding the construction of the pyramids is severly flawed, much similar to your logic regarding the age of the planet.

Its preposterous to believe the Earth/World is 4.5 billion years in existence, if we apply the logic of the naysayers on here. Carbon dating is, I repeat, a flawed method of calculating age. You scientific posters are too narrow minded to believe that.

Carbon dating works perfectly for stuff that lived and died till around 80000 years old.

Besides that we ample of evidence that the earth is older then 8 or 10 thousand years, we have for example those stalagmites in caves, which if you open that contain year rings (a new deposit of minerals every certain timespan), there is radiometric dating and the list could go on and on.

The notion that you would call every dating mechanism "carbon dating" shows only your ignorance.

So, I get a bone of a dead animal, and bury it in the right conditions, mud or whatever, and it should be there all things being equal, in 500,000 or a million years? Thats not provable, thats my point.
