Welcome to the Official War Thread for the 2008 Israel v. Syria, Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas War. It is not if it will happen this year but when. Follow this thread for updates on all relevant data streams, intelligence reports, and rumors. Hint, would not be opening this thread unless I knew it was going to be happenning soon.
As of today:
Israel is now able to lock into Iranian launches of missiles as well as launches from sea for the Iranian subs. Ths is an important dot. The U.S. does not just let anyone use this system unless there was a great threat. Israel did have access previously, but always in a time of war.
The U.S. just issued a new travel warning on Syria. Maybe not important, but Jimmy Carter is there and the U.S. really does not try to embarass former presidents with travel alerts while the president meets with the foreign leader. Instead, information from intelligence indicates that Assad was not friendly towards any issues related to Israel. So much so, that he literally detailed intentions of Israel's demise in the near term future.
Assad's troops are on the frontline (four divisions). Israel will soon have to make some type of call-up of reserves or would Olmert simply send a new message of peace and love to a military conglamorate biting at the bit to attack Israel. Hezbollah already sent out their own warning to Israel yesterday basically saying do not attack or you will be dead. Iran today issued its own warning to Israel; "Do not attack or you are dead". Not much more can be said by these militaries besides the attack. |

FWIW - rumors circulating the other day that the Syrian air force was spotted over the Bekka Valley for the first time i think since they withdrew back in 05'
i guess the Israeli air force isn't the only air force doing recon over Lebanon |

Cool. We do this on the Football team that I support website.
Normally, we check out the teams first, figure out the strengths and weaknesses, and whether or not we'll go in at half time in front.
Different game, same principles, I suppose.
Not fair they got to take on 3 teams at once though! |

Ok lol I didnt see that in your orginal post sorry about that. Thanks!! In your mind or based on what you have heard does it seem that Hezbollah is going to set this whole thing off? Or does it seem that Israel knowing a massive attack is coming may go first and hit Hezbollah and Syria. I was wondering if the enemies of Israel would want to start something big not only while a former President of the US is over there but also while the Pope is in America. Interesting times we are in that's for sure. |

Israel's opposing militaries know they must attack first in order to achieve a strategic advantage. Thus, the best answer is that Hezbollah and Syria will take the intiative. Checking the calender, it looks like Passover could be the next date to guess at an attack. Look for more dots. |

I have doubted your reports in the past in which i was correct. You projected a Purim war .... that did Not happen. Yes tensions are high i will agree with you on that however i dont agree with you that a war will break out. If and when a War was to break out it wouldnt break out on the news it wouldnt be a set date and time. wE can project dates but theres a good chance they will be incorrect. After guessing 23213213123 times youll probably nail it but thats after all other dates were marked off. Yes it a big development that israel linked up with the US on the radar thing thats a point however i dont think it means war will break out soon. Im in Israel and amongst the israeli public there is no strong sentiment of war. |

Preparations continue as they move bomb shelters to the north of the nation of Israel.
MDA Moves Shelters from Sderot
(IsraelNN.com) The Magen David Adom emergency response organization took two concrete shelters from the city of Sderot on Tuesday and brought them to the north. MDA officials explained that the two shelters were MDA property, and had been stationed in Sderot temporarily while the organization built a reinforced station capable of withstanding rocket attacks. The stations are needed in the north, they said.
Local residents expressed anger at the decision to move the stations, saying the stations had provided protection to shoppers at a nearby grocery store and other local residents. Dozens of residents will now be left without a place to find shelter in case of rocket attack, they said. “MDA is not the government of Israel, and it is not our duty to provide concrete shelters,” MDA officials said in response.

Military man it seems they are expecting something any time now. By they way on the Pope I was wondering if the Hezbollah or Syria would use his visit to the US which is very rare to try and attack Israel to take the attention away from him. He is not liked by the Arabs thats for sure. |

I am saying yes there will be a war and it will be this year for countless reasons (oil, nukes, Iran, Iraq, Hezbollah, Islam, Syria, Assad's failures, Olmert's failures, Bush's weakness . . .) I will not now pick the true date but it will be this year, that is final and you have my word that it will happen or I will be off on a new mission anyhow and will be gone.
The public of Israel is suckered by an attorney leader who has failed previously in the 2006 war. Things did not appeat to lead towards a war then too. In 1973 things did not appear to lead to war until a week before hostilities. 911 was a shock for many in the U.S.and Israel too. Remember that your nation has military censors that block much public information on many of things happenning right now. |

This is why the Jews never wanted to go to Israel in the first place. They were forced to by war and holocaust, ran by the Vatican and their Nazis. It can only be a trap for the Jews surrounded by Islam. And don't buy into Israeli nukes. If there were such a thing they would have used them long ago, large scale.
