Iran's foreign minister is likely to talk with Syria's president about Tehran's disputed nuclear program.
Manouchehr Mottaki said on arrival Thursday that he will discuss the "latest Mideast developments" with Syrian President Bashar Assad. Israel has been recieving details of possible Hezbollah action in the next few days. In response, IAF fighter jets have circled southern Lebanese cities as well as Beiruit. More interesting were the automated phone calls placed to citizens in some cities in Lebanon in which Israel threatened retaliation for any attack by the Hezbollah as well as saying Lebanese citizens should not support Hezbollah. Further, Israel has placed ships alongside the Lebanese coast in a challenge to the Hezbollah. Many times these potential conflagarations quiet down after a few days. As Israeli defense is of the opinion that Iran is not yet ready for challenging Israel directly, they are not willing to create a regional conflagaration, yet. Instead, the Hezbollah merely have a green light to start tit-for tat mortar attacks and shoot a few missiles at planes and boats. Once Iran is assured of being prepared for the real war, Hezbollah will be offerred a greater green-light. In the mean-time, Israel does not want any attacks and is preparing to use the intial attack as a possible opening of the door to an expansive all-out war for her survival. Note the words of Olmert at one of the fallen soldier's funeral when he said we must live by the sword in such a hostile region. |

Israel urges Lebanese to turn against Hezbollah in cellphone voice messages
Israel sent voice messages to Lebanese mobile users in southern Lebanon and the capital Beirut, urging them to turn against Hezbollah, local Voice of Lebanon reported Thursday.
The messages vowed Israeli retaliation against any possible attack, and urged Lebanese to prevent Hezbollah from "establishing a state within a state".
The radio station said it received complains from Lebanese residents who received these messages.

Moreover, Israel handed over 185 Palestinian and Arab bodies to the Lebanese side Thursday morning as a part of the deal.
While the Israelis were mourning their fallen soldiers on Wednesday, Hezbollah celebrated the return of the five Lebanese prisoners and the remains of their militants as a victory.

Shalit talks deadlocked, Hamas hangs on to 'asset':
Israel and Hamas have not yet agreed to renew negotiations over the release of kidnapped Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, despite the completion of the Hezbollah prisoner swap and the relative quiet on the southern front that were supposed to advance talks on a swap with Hamas.
