Biblically, many doubted that Russia could move south and attack Israel as Gog-Magog Prophecy fortold, until today.
Now that Russia is in almost total control of Georgia, I have no doubt they can reach Syria and Iran and take on Israel. Though Armegedon will be a ways out (7 years away) each military is positioning their troops to be there for the battle. The U.S has troops within the vicinity, Russia will have hers too. Now China and the EU will get the ball rolling on their end after the Gog-Magog war.
In the meantime, all we need is Israel taking on Iran and kicking some "ass". Russia will then get open roads from Turkey to move troops down to confront Israel and then, miraculously Israel survives, then end-times will be here!

Iran says to pursue nuclear talks with EU

Iran said on Monday it has agreed with the EU to continue talks aimed at resolving the nuclear crisis but again insisted it will press on with contested work despite the threat of more sanctions.

Top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili spoke by phone with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, the pointman for six major powers which have offered Iran an incentives package in return for a freeze in uranium enrichment activities.

A line in the sand

Georgia's disastrous attack on South Ossetia has given Russia a perfect excuse to roll back US control of Azerbaijan's oil supply.

Ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Russia has watched with growing alarm how the successive US administrations have violated the promise made by President George HW Bush to respect the status quo existing at the time of the end of the cold war in 1990. The eastward expansion of Nato, which started during the Bill Clinton presidency, has covered not only the Baltic states, but also all of the east European members of the now-defunct Moscow-led Warsaw Pact. As if this were not enough, plans are being made to expand Nato to admit Ukraine, a former European constituent of the Soviet Union, and Georgia, a former Caucasian constituent of the Soviet Union.

Already, the Pentagon had established its presence in Georgia and Azerbaijan. It posted its officers to these Caucasian republics to train Georgian and Azeri forces to guard the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline – connecting Baku, the source of oil, with the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, in Turkey. Moreover, under guise of waging "war on terror", the Azeri government allowed the Pentagon to upgrade the Nasosnaya military airfield north of Baku. As I have discussed in my book Blood of the Earth, that gave the US greater flexibility in transporting troops and deploying its air power in the region.

The Pentagon's continuing intrusion into Russia's backyard has been worrisome to the military leaders in Moscow. They see it as part of Washington's overarching policy of encircling Russia. Now, Saakashvili's ill-conceived move has provided them with a rationale to flex their muscles and claw back some of the influence the Kremlin has been wont to exercise in the Caucasus over the past two centuries.

On the American side, intent on monopolising the exploitation of the hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Basin, the Clinton administration resolved to exclude Russian and Iranian oil companies from exploration and extraction. It succeeded. Yet, there was the task of delivering the crude oil to where it was needed – Europe. With their already-established pipelines leading to maritime terminals, Russia and Iran were well-placed to provide the transit facilities.

To exclude Russia and Iran even from this phase, Washington favoured the construction of the 1,090-mile Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, even though it was twice as long as the alternative route of Baku-Tbilisi-Suspa, the Russian port on the Black Sea, and passes through a highly seismic landscape. The US government went on to grant $823m to Turkey for this project, amounting to more than a fifth of the total cost.

Although the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey signed (under pressure from Washington) a document in 1998 favouring the BTC pipeline, it was not until 2006 that it was built. During the present conflict, the Russian air force has tried to hit this pipeline – so far without success. By attempting to do so, the Kremlin is sending a message to Nato member states: the BTC pipeline, built at great cost in order to circumvent Russia, is now vulnerable.

Of course, any damage to the pipeline can be repaired. And the events of the past few days will enable Washington to convince its allies that, despite the odds, it had pursued the right policy of excluding Russia from the ventures of the western oil corporations in the Caspian Basin.

On the other hand, with Europe importing 25% of its natural gas needs from Russia, there is no prospect of it ensuring its energy security by excluding the Russian behemoth, Gazprom, from its list of hydrocarbon suppliers. All that western capitals can now hope is that the popular backlash in Georgia, which is bound to follow Saakashvili's blunder, does not lead to his overthrow and replacement by a leader who is not as determinedly anti-Russian as he is.

At this moment - ALL are a possibility. Any attack with Iran will follow through with the Hezbollah. More likely is that Israel will attack - be it either or. Bush wants to do something and I am sure he is giving a green light to Israel. Reasoning, Bush is a Christian and he is trying to do everything he feels he should be doing to prevent just exactly what is coming - a devastating war against Israel and the rise of Russia to attack Israel. Unfortunately, attacking Iraq did not protect Israel. More so, becoming friends with Russia and prepping Georgia did not help one bit. Russia is marching down. Thus, Bush may feel morally obligated to help Israel survive by allowing Israel to attack Iran.

TURKEY- once was a valid ally of Israel, still a secular government/but muslim nation. Lately, Turkey has been surprisingly pro-Iran. Either Iran buys them out or Israel hits Iran and scares the World with serious economic impacts and possible nuclear exchange on Syria and Iran. Then Turkey turns and allows Russia to front its troops down the highways to Syria and inot or near Israel.

Syria: We Said We'd Allow One IAEA Visit To Site Of Attack

In response to news that Syria had refused to allow a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency an additional visit to the Al-Khaber site, a senior Syrian Foreign Ministry source said that Syria had committed to allow the IAEA delegation one visit, and that if it wanted further clarification it would have to ask Syria.

The source stressed that the lies spread by the U.S. about the nuclear nature of the site were aimed at justifying the Israeli attack on the site, and at torpedoing Syria's status to the IAEA council of inspectors.

U.S. puts brakes on Israeli plan for Iran strike

The American administration has rejected an Israeli request for military equipment and support that would improve Israel's ability to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

A report published last week by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) states that military strikes are unlikely to destroy Iran's centrifuge program for enriching uranium.

The Americans viewed the request, which was transmitted (and rejected) at the highest level, as a sign that Israel is in the advanced stages of preparations to attack Iran. They therefore warned Israel against attacking, saying such a strike would undermine American interests. They also demanded that Israel give them prior notice if it nevertheless decided to strike Iran.

As compensation for the requests it rejected, Washington offered to improve Israel's defenses against surface-to-surface missiles.

Israel responded by saying it reserves the right to take whatever action it deems necessary if diplomatic efforts to halt Iran's nuclearization fail.

Senior Israeli officials had originally hoped that U.S. President George Bush would order an American strike on Iran's nuclear facilities before leaving office, as America's military is far better equipped to conduct such a strike successfully than is Israel's.
