The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years.

you want doom? How about a company owning the patents on all the food you eat. How about genetically modified plants owned by Monsanto that displace native plants.

If the theory of evolution is the truth, then why is the pinnacle of evolution(mankind) creating terminator seeds for? Isn't the terminator process(sterilization) against everything the evolutionary process is all about? A process which destroys variety, is that what evolving means?

It reminds me of an Chinese anecdote.

Once upon a time, a very poor man lived in a village. He had a very nice horse. The horse was so good that even the richest man in the village wanted to buy it. But the old man always refused to sell it.... saying, “This horse is my friend. How can I sell you my friend?”

The old man and his family started training these wild horses. But after a week, the old man’s son broke his leg while he was trying to train a horse. Again at once the villagers commented, “Bad luck, what you will do now when your son will not be able to help you? You are already so poor…Oh God! Poor you!”

“Bad luck or good luck,” the old man said. "Who can say?”

Again a few days later the king’s army passed through the village and forced every young man to become a soldier. All but except one i.e. the old man’s son as his leg was broken.

Villagers cried, “How lucky you are! You are with your son; our sons will be probably get killed in the war…what a good luck…”

“Bad luck or good luck,” the old man said. “Who can say?”
