There is no "over the speed of light". Our universe doesn't support that. We can't accelerate anything over the speed of light. Go th the basment, sit in the dark for hours and try to gasp the theory of relativity. When object having mass (like some heavy particle) aproach the speed of light its mass starts rising exponentaly, thus requierng more and more energy to accelerate just a fraction more. Even if you don't understand how particle accelerator works, you should know we don't have infinetly poweful energy sorce, so we may accelerate something to 99.999999 the speed of light, not more. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 394033If you fired particles at near light speed at each other from opposite directions, their closing and collision speed would be nearly 2 times the speed of light.
