A 74-year-old grandmother spent the night in jail after she refused security officers' efforts to check her at Palm Beach International Airport and then shoved a deputy, authorities said Thursday.
Elena Reichman, a Holocaust survivor who lives west of Boca Raton, is charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer. She was released from jail after posting a $3,000 bond at 5 a.m. Thursday. It was her first arrest, state records show.

At least this women had the "balls" to stand up for her constituational rights. Why does it take an older lady to defend her rights--I think the younger generation should start standing up for our right and not be so darn scared that we might get in touble. Besides, what does a terrorist look like? How do I know when I see one--or should we just put each and every one of us in that grouping called terrorist? Whow are the terrorist--people or government?
We need to start standing up for our rights and not let them take away our freedoms.
By the way, she caught a plan this morning and is now in NY as she had intended to do yesterday. |

Clearly, she can see where this is going as she has experienced the whole scenario before.
Why is it that there are no fourth amendment (or any) rights in the airport?
If we are to fight the tyranny, then we must first understand it. Our government derives almost all of its power from the Commerce Clause. Like it or not, this is where the rubber meets the road.
Airports and airlines are interstate commerce. The federal government is not limited in its authority when it come to interstate commerce. You may have an unalienable right to travel, but noone has any right to travel on the King's airline. So when a TSA officer says bend over, then either bend over or find another way to travel.
No government representative will ever admit this as it would cause an upheaval. So one must look at the law and Supreme Court rulings to tease this out.
Until a substantial number of people realize that our Constitutional Representative Government has become a Government by Commerce, noone will even have a hope of being free. |
