In your current poll, 66% favor Palestinians and only 33% favor Israelis, BUT there were only 3 votes cast at that point. It depends on how many people you ask and who you ask.
The gallup poll, IMO, doesn't include a large enough percentage of the overall population to be considered reliable.

I have only voted ONCE(and to be honest I don't know if it's possible to vote more than once, I've never tried). I just wanted to point out to you and the other people of GLP that even this poll is not reliable, if you can vote more than once. It's really a waste of time. |

Statistics is a mathematical science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data.
It is applicable to a wide variety of academic disciplines, from the natural and social sciences to the humanities, and to government and business.
Statistical methods can be used to summarize or describe a collection of data; this is called descriptive statistics.
In addition, patterns in the data may be modeled in a way that accounts for randomness and uncertainty in the observations, and then used to draw inferences about the process or population being studied; this is called inferential statistics. Both descriptive and inferential statistics comprise applied statistics. There is also a discipline called mathematical statistics, which is concerned with the theoretical basis of the subject.

How can there be peace when Hamas refuses to recognize Israel? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 420465
...this is what Carter dont see.....
Carter is disappointed with Hamas response to his peace bidApril 21, 2008, 4:25 PM (GMT+02:00)
After shuttling between Riyadh, Jerusalem, Damascus and Amman – and two long conversation with Hamas leaders in the Syrian capital - former US president Jimmy Carter reported Monday, April 21 that the Palestinian terrorist group had turned down his proposal for a 30-day unilateral ceasefire.
DEBKAfile reports: His visit was dogged, in fact, by an escalation of Hamas cross-border attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip, causing fatalities on both sides, followed by Israel air strikes.
The former US president was criticized by the US and Israel for meeting the hardline Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal. Israel, the US and the European Union condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization, dedicated to Israel’s destruction and the creation of an Islamic state on Israeli territory, the West Bank and Gaza.
Carter blamed the lack of progress in his self-appointed mission on their boycott of Hamas.
He quoted Hamas as being prepared to accept Israel's right to "live as a neighbour next door in peace". Hamas, according to Carter, believes any peace agreement negotiated by Mahmoud Abbas would have to be submitted to the Palestinian people in a referendum.
However, Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, later said Carter's comments "do not mean that Hamas is going to accept the result of the referendum".
As for the US politician’s effort to obtain the release of the kidnapped Israeli soldier held incommunicado by Hamas for nearly two years, he reported that Egyptian officials said Israel had agreed to release 1,000 Palestinian terrorists in Israeli jails, but only accepted 71 on the list submitted by Hamas.
Carter said Hamas had agreed to let Cpl Shalit write a letter to his parents. DEBKAfile sums up: That was the only tangible achievement of the Carter Middle East peace mission.

your answer...
Hamas says accepts Palestinian statehood but will not recognize Jewish state
Group leader Mashaal says his organization accepts establishment of Palestinian state within 1967 borders, but will not recognize Jewish state. Masshal adds Hamas will grant Israel a 10-year truce if Israel retreats to pre-1967 lands, promises to deliver another letter from kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit
Hamas accepts the establishment of a Palestinian state on within the 1967 borders but would not recognize the Jewish state, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said on Monday.
Mashaal added that Hamas would grant Israel a 10-year "hudna," or truce, as an implicit proof of recognition if Israel withdraws from the land the Palestinians claims.
Mashaal's comments were one of the clearest outlines Hamas has given for what it would do if Israel withdrew from the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem, which it seized in 1967.
He suggested Hamas would accept Israel's existence alongside a Palestinian state on the rest of the lands Israel has held since 1948.
"We accept a state on the June 4 line with Jerusalem as capital, real sovereignty and full right of return for refugees but without recognizing Israel," Mashaal told reporters, referring to the borders as they stood before the 1967 war.
"We have offered a truce if Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders, a truce of 10 years as a proof of recognition," he said. He said he made the offer to former US President Jimmy Carter during talks Friday and Saturday in the Syrian capital.
Mashaal used the Arabic word "hudna," meaning truce, which is more concrete than "tahdiya" - a period of calm - which Hamas often uses to describe a simple ceasefire. Hudna implies a recognition of the other party's existence.
Commenting on efforts by Carter to persuade Hamas to back peace talks between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israel, Mashaal said his Islamist group would "respect Palestinian national will even if it was against our convictions".
But Mashaal said it was impractical to hold a referendum on peace as long as Palestinian national institutions were not functioning due to the schism between Hamas and the rival Fatah faction led by Abbas.........

As Golda Meir said when the Arabs love their children more then they hate the Jews then the fighting will stop. The same thing happened in Northern Ireland when the women were sick of losing children, husbands, fathers, brothers, etc etc the women changed and stopped teaching the children hatred. The major problem is that death is celebrated in Islam instead of Life. When the Palestinians in Gaza value life more then they do death then we will see a sea change.

They keep telling us that the JEWS are only retaliating and defending themselves, and not the other way around.
If someone invades my home, and tries to take my property or my life, do I have the right to defend myself and protect my property? Who is the "homeowner" and who is the "invader"?
I guess I only have the right to do so as long as the INVADER isn't a JEW! |

And they will cry Peace, Peace,
But there shall be no peace.
The solution, of course, is to get the Arabs out of traditional Jewish lands. The Arabs freely admit that they are trespassers on the land given to the Israelis by their God JHWH (Three Thousand years ago When David and his son Solomon set the limits of the Jewish kingdom. -- The Litani River to Damascus to the Euphrates to the Indian Ocean to the River of Egypt, as it plainly says in the Bible)
When Israel was founded again (Born Again as the Christians point out in fulfillment of Prophecy) in 1948, over 600,000 Jews left the neighboring Islamic countries because of consistently oppressive treatment and fled to Israel. About 430,000 Arabs left Israel to go to the Arab countries where the Jews had fled from. The Arab countries refused to accept the Arabs that were fleeing Israel because they wanted to use them as political pawns in a game of one upsmanship on the world stage. They could have been settled in the Jewish houses that were vacated. Those Arabs have been in refugee camps ever since.
Palestinians who were on the West Bank of the Jordan were kept there by the Royal Jordanian army from 1948 until 1967 when Israel recaptured that ancient homeland of theirs. To most of the Jews the Arabs are trespassers and need to go back to Arabia. They can take their Dome of the Rock with them. Shoot, give them the rock, too, if that will make them happy.
I side with the Israelis. Israel needs secure borders and trespassers do not have a right to live in the country if they are not loyal to that country.
A millennium and a half ago, Muhammad tried to exterminate many Jewish tribes. (Don't believe that sheet about Islam being a religion of peace.) Mo would have his evil followers kill the Jewish men and then take the women for sexual purposes while the Jewish children were sold into slavery. The devout Jews have no love for Islam and the Arabs who embrace that murderous religion.
Gosh, I wonder why. |

JoeNeubarth User ID: 369114 4/21/2008 3:15 PM | | Re: from GALLUP....new poll...ISRAEL & PALESTINE | Quote | We never know what the future holds for us. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Yours is as good as mine. I have been close to the Iran Issue for a long time as I was part of the failed Embassy Rescue Attempt in 1980. I knew then that we had a serious problem on our hands because I had studied the morbid history of Islam.
It has an Armageddon factor built into it in that "They get to bring about their end time scenario by their own hands."
"What." you say?
Well, it goes like this. Christians have prophecy that tells them that there is a final war called Armageddon. It will happen in accordance to God's time table. There is nothing that Christians can do to make it come any sooner.
Only God will know when it will happen, but it will include all of the countries surrounding Israel, the countries of North Africa and Northeastern Africa as well as the countries of the Kings of the East (usually considered to be the Medes and Persians of the Bible. Now called the Kurds and the Iranians. Same people but different names.)
Note, ironically, that the Bible points out that the countries that are attacking Israel in the Last Days are all Islamic today (thousands of years after the prophecies of Ezekiel, Daniel and John). The armies will be led by the AntiChrist and His False Prophet. Many Christians are coming to the conclusion that the False Prophet is the Founder of Islam. Maybe Salmud Rushdie was right?????
That (non personal involvement) is not the case with Islam where their prophecy tells them that they are going to invade Israel and kill all of the Jewish infidels at a time when a great leader arises in Islam. What I have always wondered is how did THEY know that the Jews would be back in Israel thousands of years into the future? At the time the Islamic prophecies were written, the Jews were all over the world and only a few thousand were in the Holy Land and they were under the oppression of Islamic tyrants. It almost appears as if the Islamic Prophets were trying to write the other side of the story of Revelation. They are going to invade Israel and kill all of the infidels (Jews, Christians, Whatever) when they have amassed a gigantic army.
In Revelation, according to John, an army of two hundred million is going to invade Israel and God is going to wipe them slick. Tain't none of them going to be left standing.
Oh well, along with the invasion of Israel, the Islamic faithful will also destroy the political powers that are of the Infidels (Now, as seen, by Osama bin Ladin and his crazy Iranian financial supporters as the Western Democracies. Hence all of the attacks on the west, Tall Buildings, Embassies, Trains and Boats and Planes etc. in Europe and elsewhere.
We have got a hell of a lot of ill fortune ahead of us if we do not find a way to stop Radical Islam. The question is, "How do you stop it?" Do you go to war with a fanatical branch of a religion? |

When the U.N. voted to GIVE the land back to the Israelis, the result was an act of "declaration of war", an act of "invasion".
It boggles my mind at the "logic" of Israel has a right to the land.
The only way to take possession of land is to legally buy it or to "steal" it away by invasion and conquering and/or killing the occupying peoples.
According to the "bible", this is how the Israelites gained the land, they invaded and slaughtered the native peoples.
Of course they say it was given to them by "God".
If this is the case, then "God" must favor all conquerers.
Why are we, and the U.N., helping Israel conquer Palestine? |
