ROME, Italy (AP) -- The body of Padre Pio, a hugely popular Italian saint, will go on public display starting Thursday, with thousands expected to visit and pray to the mystic monk whom many Catholic faithful believe bore the signs of Jesus' crucifixion.
Padre Pio had an enormous following before his death in 1968.
Following an open-air Mass lead by Cardinal Jose Saraiva Martins, head of the Vatican's sainthood office, visitors will begin to file in front of the saint's body, displayed in a church in the southern Italian town where he lived.
The Capuchin monk, who had an enormous following in Italy and abroad, died in 1968 after living for decades with inexplicable, bleeding wounds on his hands and feet, like the wounds Jesus suffered at crucifixion. Pope John Paul II made him a saint in 2002.
Church officials exhumed the body so the faithful could pray before it, since this year marks the 40th anniversary of his death. They also wanted to take measures to ensure it was being well preserved.
Since the unearthing in March, the body has been prepared for public viewing in the crypt of the Santa Maria delle Grazie church in San Giovanni Rotondo, a town near the Adriatic in southern Puglia.
Church officials have said there was no sign of the so-called stigmata on his limbs after an initial examination, but otherwise, the body was in good condition.
Organizers say they expect 15,000 people to pay their respects to Padre Pio on the first day of the viewing. It is not yet known when the body will be reburied.
Padre Pio had a huge public following in life as in death and his beatification and canonization ceremonies drew hundreds of thousands of people to the Vatican.
For decades, though, many in the Vatican were made uneasy by his popularity and scorned him, doubting that his wounds were real and that his mystical virtues were authentic. He was banned for years from saying Mass in public, even as his following grew immensely. |

It's Catholic tradition. They exhume the bodies to use for relics. All Churches have pieces of the actual saint on their alter. I forget exactly how it works, but it ranges from bone chips to huge bones depending on the size of the relic for the church.
It is creepy. I remember on PBS a few years ago they had a thing on religion and they were showing this church in Spain and it had a room filled with the bones and remains of dozens of saints. It's a bit fascinating seeing skulls and stuff of people who died hundreds of years ago.

Blood Ritual

Blood ritual is when someone kills another living being, human or animal. Any killing is wrong. It is against life itself. The Dark Ones brought this blood ritual to Earth as a part to control us through fear, but also to degrade all life.
The murder of Jesus was Blood Ritual and tainted the Christian religion to its core. It tainted all the subsequence religions that grew up upon "the eating and drinking" of Jesus blood and are all from the Dark Ones/Evil Ones, or non life affirming, Devil, controllers.
People who go to war and must kill for their country are also part of the Blood Ritual. Throughout time we have been made to believe that war was necessary for the safety and well being for all, when in fact it is just the Blood Ritual being used and accepted as a good thing. It is never a good thing. Anyone who has killed another knows how it makes them feel, no matter how much justification.
The Mob & gangs use blood ritual as a way to enslave their members. Go kill so&so and then you are in the group. That opened the persons through their suffering soul to mind control; for the shame of murder eats upon everyone’s souls for each killing.
People will leave most of their body that is, spilt their soul in order to continue down the Blood Ritual path. This creates mental disorders.
Satan worshipers also use Blood Ritual and will kill babies/people and drink the blood. This binds their souls in to everlasting "hell” which is a degradation of soul quality. They can never live fully again in this lifetime.
So here we are celebrating a major Blood Ritual and billions do not see how harmful and evil this event really is to their souls. It makes people feel so helpless that "god's son" never lived, could not escape murder, so that everyone is doomed. The churches feed us the lie by saying he died for our sins, NO his Murder steeped us forever in non-life affirming blood ritual. This is why some Christians kill people out of enforcing beliefs.
And no religion escapes this, for the ancient Jewish religion always killed animals to "please" God. And it is true with all organized religions created after the time of Abraham!!
The religions before that time never used Blood Ritual for they knew it was non-life affirming and anti-creation. Some historians love to write that they did but they are just by-products of our blood tainted society.
Killing is just killing. It is stopping life. It is never accepted as good in the higher realms. It is wrong.
Worshiping the death of anyone is so wrong and sublimely supporting evil. Each time someone has Holy Communion it is honoring the Blood Ritual. Each of us is responsible for our individual actions in this life and no one can die for our sins.
I grew up in the Catholic religion and loved Jesus for his love and his talk of love. I never could get behind the blood ritual and the lie of his death meant liberation for anyone. For that is against Creator God! I knew this as a child. But today I know that now this lie has made our world a living hell. Anyone wanting to kill another who does not believe the way they do, or for just a material object have been trained to believe that murder is conditional, even acceptable. Murder is killing, blood letting, stopping soul growth and an abomination to Life. It is against the Laws of the Universe.
As long as Blood Ritual continues too be accepted in religions, or in our world through war, we will never be anywhere but Hell on Earth. |

very good explanation.
i always had trouble with "communion" in churches. it seemed wrong to me when i was young, and as i grew older, i understood why.
it's so hard tho to explain to the christians, etc, what they are really doing when they take part in the ritual of "god eating"
