I'm just used to those kinda costs here in NYC. 1 one way on a MetroCard is $2 here. I pay on average like $12 a day just fucking taking public transportation. $65 for the net. Gas is @ like $3.40. Smokes are @ $6.75 -- crazy. Cell phone bill is always like $80-100. And shes bitching about some lousy 2 bucks? Get the fuck outta here. Don't pay in person then, foo. Anonymous Coward User ID: 284011 United States 04/25/2008 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OMG. What a spin, huh? This has been going on forever. I work for a cell phone company. We are a dealer. When we take bill payments in the store, we have a system that transfers the money directly to the carrier, so that they money gets applied right away. (alot of times, they are paying instore due to disconnected service due to not paying their bill) So obviously, this company charges us a fee for their service. And yes, we are paying someone to take that bill payment and meanwhile, we are making no money off of it. It has nothing to do with CASH it has to do with paying in the store. You could pay with check or credit card and it would be the same. If you don't like it there are sooo many other options, send your check by mail, pay online, pay over the phone with a credit card, etc. |

If you get a MetroCard with alot of rides on it, it saves in the long run. $12 a day is unnecessary. |

Quoting: OneConsciousnessYeah, that's why I said find a corporate store. And also, you're not being charged for using cash, you're being charged because we're charged to take your bill payment at our store. It's called business. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 284011Yeah, the fun pass is $7.. true.. but my day schedule changes constantly so I just don't know if I'll be needing the fun pass, you know? @ max, per ride.. I pay like $12 on that day. ----- By the way, in case some of you weren't aware.. most if not all of these cell phone carriers are offering unlimited tiers. Pretty good buy if you ask me. Unlimited minutes, texts, picture messages.. @ T-Mobile I think it's $100/month. Contracts are what I'm pissed about. And I'd much rather buy the phone via retail with my own money and sign no fucking contract. Pre-paid would be risky for me because shit changes on the hour over here. The City that never sleeps, lol. Pre-paid only works for people who don't use their cell phone often. No contracts will be the only revolutionary thing to happen in wireless. I don't know why they are still holding onto that. I know that with our carrier, you can choose a "no contract" option but it's not a good deal. Come to think of it, it might work for the pre-paid lovers though, not many minutes. Unlimited plans are only good if you consistently use more than 2000 minutes a month. And alot of people are thinking that it's going to even out their bill but then they buy up ringtones, get another high bill, and get pissed. It only covers certain things so make sure you know what that is. |
*Vishuz User ID: 374870 United States 04/25/2008 05:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good points but I'll also need a data plan, so that'll add to the base cost anyhow. I use on average like 400-600 minutes and my plan is @ 600 so it's good enough, but if I'll get unlimited when I have a job, am having classes and shit like that. So w/ a data plan... shit... I'm not expecting less than $150/month. That is crazy. =/ I wish they'd do something about it. Maybe I'll only have a data plan & 400 minutes instead. IM, text, and e-mail instead.. much cheaper. Just use the kiosk or automated machine in the office, it accepts cash and doesn't charge $2. But what it does do it not give change, it applies the extra to your next bill, so bring in a cash amount within the dollar of the bill. Plus they have those machines all over, K-Marts, Sam's Club, etc. |

"AT&T Wireless began to charge customers who pay their bills in their stores." "We want our associates to spend their time helping customers as they are thinking about their wireless plans or looking at phones." come on people, reading is fundamental. |
