Your assertion that you are a good customer is wrong. banks love people who are always overdrawn, authorized or otherwise, because they get to charge interest and when a check bounces they get to charge you. |

If you dont want to do business with someone you dont have to legally do so. The most common reason is that you pissed someone off at the bank and they couldnt legally back it up. So if they dont want to deal with you they will send you a BS letter in the mail and give you no reason whatsoever. Provident Bank in NJ after 8 years of doing business with them, no overdrafts, no bounced checks, just cash in. Close my accounts for no reason. So effective Monday we instructed our employees that we are no longer depositing their pay checks in Provident Bank held accounts. That they had to obtain a different bank if they wanted direct deposit. So all my employees said they are clothing their accounts. So Provident, you just lost 1.6 a year in business! Bye Bye! |

GODBLESSAMERICA User ID: 41302945 United States 06/07/2013 03:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To whom it may concern; To all the customers that was NOT given reasons of account closure: Please understand the following, the banks are mandated and controlled by the Federal government. In order for a bank to maintain their license to lend money and stay in business they have to share and comply with all government regulations including the secrecy act (I can't tell you why I closed your account!) Research more if you want about the secrecy act. When the government tap into your bank account in the middle of the night reviewing your incoming/outgoing funds from your account, banks has no control over it! never the less the banks has duty to report their beloved customers to the Federal Government about every transaction especially when it comes in a form of CASH/MONEY ORDERS/WIRE TRANSFERS/when your total deposits adds more than certain amount. Even if you buy property overseas the government will know and they will do their tapping if they so desire to your accounts! Your friendly bank teller indirectly is a government informant without his/her knowledge! So if your account was closed because you are negative, swapping money between account (kitting) or writing bad checks that is a good reason. But if they close your account, your cousins account and the accounts of your friends, it is possible the other agencies are investigating your activity due to a routine check, suspicious activities, possibly fraud, IRS check, OFAC check, or other government entity. The bank has no control on whom the government check on, but to avoid headaches, the BANK closes your account and shows the government that they are in compliance! Banks are afraid of FEDs and they will get rid of you with for NO reason given to avoid a headache. Good Luck! BIG BROTHER ALL OVER THE WORLD NOW AND YOU CAN'T STOP HIM! |

They used to be for rich investors only(JP Morgan), and now they're possibly owned by Chinese entities. Regardless, they're front and center in the PM short corruption - especially silver. Find a couple of credit unions for normal transactions - and make sure the account is free. If you need interstate or international access, avoid Chase, BOA, Citi especially. ' |
ac User ID: 49477882 United States 05/07/2014 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Actually the money you put in a bank belongs to them. It is considered an unsecured loan, or credit to them. Look at all the fine print they give you when you open an account. This is why when the bail in happens you won't have a leg to stand on. There have been court cases on this issue and the courts have ruled in the banks favor. I suggest a family owned bank in your community, or a credit union if you can prove they don't have ties to the big banks. And you should never keep more $ in the bank than you need to pay your monthly bills. If you are lucky enough to have a good chunk of $ in the bank take it out and buy a hard asset. Land, metals or something tangilble. |
Terrebonne User ID: 57554510 United States 05/07/2014 04:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This has got to be one of the weirdest thing that ever happened to me. My bank just sent me a certified letter stating that all of my accounts will be closed out in approximately one week. This was a shock to me because I’ve been doing business with this bank for many years now. I’ve got sentimental feelings for this bank because this was the place that I opened my first bank account. Actually, my mother opened this account for me when I was still a minor. Yup, it was my first “kiddie” account. Of course, I immediately called the bank and demanded answers. I emphasized to them that I was a good customer for many years – never had a negative balance or anything derogatory. So why do they want to close my accounts after so many years? I still do not have the slightest idea. This was what the manager told me and it went something like this, “ After reviewing your accounts, we have decided that it would be in our best interest to close them down.” When I asked why, he simply said that he cannot disclose that to me. What the hell. What kind of shit is that? Now I have to waste my precious time rerouting all my bills and direct deposits to another bank. Has this ever happened to anybody else? Something sounds fishy. They explained that if a bank does not find an account to be a worthwhile investment, then they will close it. When i legally tried to obtain the money, I was told by my solicitor that we could try going through the court system, but legally, a bank can take any amount of money from your account. In the small print it basically says that when you put money into your account, it becomes the money of the banks. You agree to this when you have an account. They are providing you with a service. You are agreeing for them to take charge of your finances and what they say goes. The only reason the dont do it more openly is because if everyone knew, then noone would use a bank anymore. I eventually got the money back, but it was a struggle. |
