The coffin and the acacia
The original form of the myth states that Osiris was killed by a wooden sarcophagus secretly being made to his measurements. A party was held where the coffin was offered to whomever could fit inside. A few people tried to fit in, but to no avail. Osiris was encouraged to try, but as soon as he lay back, the lid slammed on him and was locked. It was then sealed with lead and thrown into the Nile. Upon hearing that Osiris was gone, Isis set out to look for him. She later learned that the coffin had floated down the Nile river up to the coast of Byblos (now in modern day Lebanon) and got embedded in the trunk of a cedar tree. She also learned that the cedar tree had been taken and used as a pillar to support a palace for the king of Byblos. After explaining the situation to the queen of Byblos and getting her permission, she managed to extract the coffin without harming the palace and took Osiris' body out into the desert and buried him back in Egypt.
Again, Set found Osiris' coffin, took his body out, and dismembered him into 13 parts, scaterring them across the land of Egypt. Each part represented one of the 13 full moons seen each year (there are roughly 13 lunar months per year).
Once again Isis set out to look for the pieces and she was able to find and put together 12 of the 13 parts, but was unable to find the 13th, his penis, which was eaten by the oxyrhynchus fish (a fish with an unusual curved snout resembling depictions of Set). Instead, she fashioned a phallus out of gold and sang a song around Osiris until he came back to life.
Osiris was resurrected. So it was that Isis conceived Horus. Later, she had his son, Horus.
The act of evil in drowning Osiris was said to have been the work of 72 unnamed conspirators. This references the legend in which 1/72nd of the moon's light was said to have been won by Thoth for the birth of the five major gods - Set, Nepthys, Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Each 1/72nd of the moon's light given for the five days signifying an individual piece of darkness left in its place during the 360.[citation needed] This legend was itself based on the fact that 1/72 over 360 days, the length of the year in the older Egyptian calendar, produces five whole days, reflecting the duration of the newer 365 day Egyptian calendar.

In late Egyptian thought, the righteous dead were sometimes said to become the stars, and thus the moon was occasionally seen as having a connection to Osiris, lord of the dead.[citation needed] As a death and resurrection legend, in which evil seeks to destroy a deity, thus bringing darkness, it thus developed an association with the lunar cycle, in which the moon appears to be destroyed by darkness, and is then brought back to life. Thus it later became said that Osiris had been killed by being dismembered into 13 parts, each part representing one of the 13 full moons seen each year (there are roughly 13 lunar months per year). Another interpretation is that the pieces were 14 (they number up to sixteen in some versions) were the phases of a single moon's cycle (one sliver cut off each night for 14 days, then reassembled over the next 14 days - see Janet McCrickard, Eclipse of the Sun, 1990). As a life-death-rebirth deity, Horus/Osiris became a reflection of the annual cycle of crop harvesting as well as reflecting people's desires for a successful afterlife, and so the legend became extremely important, outstripping all others. The legend's ventures into both life and afterlife meant that religious rites associated with the legend eventually began to take on aspects of a mystery religion, where initiates were said to be able to partake in Horus/Osiris' resurrection, purging themselves of past ills, and entering a new life.
In Greece, the Demeter-Persephone death-resurrection cult at Eleusis, had a similar nature, and began at an extremely similar time. Many centuries later this led to interest in the Egyptian cult by the Greeks, including Plato. Eventually, a derived form of the Egyptian cult, having been infused with Platonism, spread to areas of Greek influence, particularly during the Hellenistic era of control over Egypt. As the cult referred to foreign gods, the forms of the cult in Greek nations were adopted to describe suitable local deities and merged and expanded to include elements from the local cultures. This produced a collection of closely related versions of the cult, whose central deities had been deformed to be similar to the Egyptian cult, and were by the 1st century BC collectively known as Osiris-Dionysus.

In Kristie Piehl's interview on Coast to Coast, she said the New York detectives were going to release some information by the end of this week? I searched and couldn't find anything new, except that a few municipalities are reviewing past cases and deciding they could possibly be linked to this series of drownings and disappearances.

no there has been nothing more on 2C on this and nothing listed so far in their upcoming scedule.i would like to know more about where they found the smiley faces.i have been investigating the local drowning that was brushed off as an accident,but that makes no sense.he left with others.i think the problem in this case is that the family did not want that possibility looked at and they were in a state of denial.this case has murder written all over it.A trail of grafitti from a walkway to the river,where smiley faces were drawn on a rock.The investigators were interested in my research,but they don't share information. |

the pattern the victims follow: bright young male college students -- all christian, none are jews, according to a poster above -- who are popular/sociable.
in terms of intelligence, and perhaps leadership/social skills, some of the best non-jews are being targeted.

Not targeted to rich successful white boys in college, this is why the have been able to run undetedted. There are a lot more victims, dig. This misconception is narrowing the focus and precluding real victims.
Its more a crime of opportunity rather than targeted.
Women are used to separate the victims from their friends, and then to lure them into the vehicle. once isloated the male victims leave thinking they will just go home, rejected by the women who then reappear to lure them into a vehicle - saying they lost him and are soooo happy to see him again that night.
target, leave the bar, abduct, kill and dump. It is a one day event, some may have been targeted due to success, or just friendliness. perhaps because the women lure have targeted them. once isolated the women can do what they want (i.e. exact revenge for whatever).
regional clubs, possibly based on points.
dump into cold water, no or minimal torture, mostly psychological. no or minimal violence except death.
moved beyond the prettyboys to anyone who could look like foul play to cover it up.
there is a formal/informal association with colleges, perhaps tangential w/victims, maybe friends there or being in a college town with lots of bars.
cold water stops the bruising process.
I can't help but feel that this is a majority female killing cult. |

There was a similar drowning in Edmonton, Alberta last year.
I was searching all over trying to find out more about a case this winter (I believe) where a guy left a bar and was later found drowned, right in the city of Vancouver. I did find a guy who was at a party on the UBC campus, 23 years old, in 1999, never seen again after leaving party.
Would like more links if possible on similar cases in Vancouver or elsewhere in Canada?

9 days later he is found drowned in the river. The city police rule out foul play and call it a suicided even though he had been in high spirits (cooked a big meal for his family, phoned girlfriend in Venice, Italy etc. just before his disappearance).
The family had posted a $5,000 reward for information about his whereabouts. They refused to give it to the sewer inspector who found the body. Investigator Byerson of the La Crosse Police Dept. states that on 9/30/06 he and Sgt. Joholski were called in to assist in the investigation of a missing person, Luke Homan. Officer Mancuso was taking statements from several individuals, and it was discovered that AUSTIN SCOTT was the last person to see Luke at the “Vibe” tavern and AUSTIN had told these friends that three individuals had approached Luke and after approaching Luke, they later confronted AUSTIN, and one of them hit AUSTIN over the head with a beer bottle. Investigator Byerson then made contact with AUSTIN by phone and he came to the Police Dept. At this point, he falsely provided his DOB as 6/25/85, and falsely provided his address as 1502 Main St.
Sgt. Joholski, at this time, learned from other police reports that AUSTIN SCOTT had been located in the area of the Radisson Hotel on Friday night 9/29/06, given an underage drinking ticket, and then taken to a hospital for detoxification.
Investigator Byerson conducted an interview with AUSTIN while other officers were searching for Luke Homan. Investigator Byerson noted that AUSTIN was upset and nervous. He said he was at the “Vibe” bar with Luke on Friday night and three individuals confronted Luke, and it appeared they were arguing with him but he could not hear what was being said. AUSTIN said that Luke then left the bar and the three individuals left as well. A short time later, the three individuals came back and one of them asked AUSTIN where his buddy was and then hit him in the eye with a beer bottle. He said he then walked straight home and called it a night.
Investigator Byerson confronted him with information that indicated he did not in fact go straight home, but instead was seen near the Radisson Hotel and was taken to the hospital for detoxification. AUSTIN was asked if he knew where Luke was and he said no. He was asked if it was possible that he and Luke were by the river and Luke fell in. Wade Steffy
Like many children, Wade was interested in team sports including baseball and basketball. But as he grew older and entered high school, his parents said he became more focused on individual sports. He joined his cross-country team his freshman year in high school.
Larry Williams, Wade's cross-country and track coach during his four years of high school, called Wade an athlete with a great heart.
Williams coached IU student Jill Behrman when she attended the same school. Behrman, too, went missing when she was 19, as a sophomore at IU. Her remains were found a few years later by hunters.
There is however a record holer that is a female named Steffey that went to Niwot school-Niwot is an indian name.So far i have found either indian names of a school or religious names.

I don't think it is coincidence either.There are other strange coincidences,for instance the killer seems to prefer to kill when there is a half moon and one death was in half moon bay.I think it could be like extra clues a killer leaves behind as if to say " hey people i a killing people and leaving you all those clues". |
