anyone familiar to this forum knows that my cousin was abducted in early February.

The Killer:
Detectives have reason to believe that this smiley face killer is not one but a gang of killers who abduct , torture and drown victims ......communications from from my aunt states in one way or another they coordinate, communicate and even boast about the crimes committed online.......they use online technology to sophisticate the murders. I do not know if this is how they find the victims. Some how they know when to find them vulnerable.......which may explain the uncanny similarity to all these murders.
The information I just received from my mom is this is no one particular person committing these murders.
I am waiting to here from my family to see what the autopsy reveals.
Detectives believe there may be a connection. however the media says there is no signs of foul play....The media is incorrect as they have been through the whole situation. I can only tell you my personal experience with what is happening to my family, what is communicated And , upon my own personal research.

I am very interested in this line of inquiry. Six of the 'smiley face' victims disappeared in La Crosse - former headquarters of Trane. There is the Clarkville connection with Jessiah Jameson. There is a young man (handsome, smart, popular) who disappeared from Middlebury College in Middlebury Vermont February 5th - he'd been drinking with friends, then simply vanished with no trace. His body has not yet been found but there is reason to believe he is in the nearby Otter Creek. His name is Nick Garza.
According to their client list, Trane has an active contract with Middlebury College.
Does anyone have any new information connecting Trane to the 'smiley face' story? What lead to the initial poster's theory formation? Who are the "girls" mentioned in the smiley face/ventilation post?
The idea of a female killer interests me for this case. These are strapping young men with high pain tolerance due to intoxication. It would be nearly impossible for an average person to overpower and kill them. And indeed, it seems further unlikely as there are no signs of struggle, restraint, or trauma on the victims bodies. It seems like the killer must have the element of surprise/affinity on their side. A female killer?

I may be completely out here but has anyone read the mayday mysteries.I've been reading them for a few years.
Their announcements often end with a smiley face on the bottom.Nobody can fathom these messages out as it's coded.The smiley faces just struck a chord. |

It might be possible to turn a vacuum pump into a weapon. You would need a tight fitting facemask, and a way to connect it to the vacuum pump. You would also have to restrain the victim as it would take maybe a couple minutes for the victim to pass out. Also most commercial vacuum pumps work off of 120V. So you would need a generator and electrical cord.
I read where one of the common threads in the murder is that the victim is seen talking with one or more girls before disappearing. Trane has hired numerous female technicians in the last few years. So a female technician is not out of the question.
I think you guys might be on the right track. Keep up the good work.

Interesting thread here. I hope the smiley killer(s) are found and soon. And I feel for those that have been effected by these crimes.
Interesting about these Trane/HVAC theories. I have no insights into Trane, but they also own/partner with other brands perhaps widening the scope or sphere of influence.
As for the refrigerant effects, breathing R22 just decreases the oxygen intake. Kids have been trying to get a 'buzz' off of refrigerant for years, but really they are just asphyxiating/(depriving oxygen) themselves.
Creepy the thought of suffocation from R22 and then 'vacing' out the lungs leaving little trace of anything. I just don't know how practical this would be. The 120v problem can be resolved via transformer from 12v car sig outlet.
Also that brand of vac unit linked above with the smiley face appears to be a small automotive grade vac. Nothing that a pro HVAC Tech would use in commercial applications. And nothing that I have seen before. But very 'coincidental' and again weird.
One more thought, when R22 is added to an open flame the resulting gas can be very dangerous (I've heard deadly, but I don't know if this is just talk or a result of the asphyxiating that could naturally result). |

On a forum called godlike productions.com they have come up with a theory of a serial killer murdering young men,mostly students,around the midwest and east coast.14 deaths of young men have been counted so far, all less then 10 miles from a Trane factory.The theory goes something like this.
The victims get stuck with a needle-knocked out-it is not enough to be detected with tests ,but does the job until they get them in the back of their vehicle.they then keep them sedated with refrigerant-r22,while they sit in the front with the windows cracked open.since they are an air conditioner technician they travel to Wisconsin,White Bear Lake,Columbus Ohio,Cinncinati, ,and Clarksville Tennessee,for classes at the Trane factories ,where they get specialized training for Trane products.Since they work for a major contractor,they would also be working in some of the other cities as well.They may have also have worked on the east coast recently, as a death was in Albany and in Middlebury Vermont where work is contracted by Trane of Albany.Ohers speculate it could also be part of management.What ever the case no one from Trane is talking
No one is claiming that every death can be attributed to the same killer,only that there is a high concentration of deaths near Trane factories and maybe someone associated with the company is a murderer and responsible for 1 or more deaths of young men.In some instances the victims were adducted by someone with a van,Reports of van abductions are still coming in from people who were in cities with Trane factories, including a blogger called Mykel_S.here is what he had to say.

i added this to the summary for those not familiar with the drownings
Suspicions were first aroused in the mid-nineties when several drownings occured in Lacrosse,Wisconsin,with the victims being young male college students.In later years there were also several drownings of young men in the Minneapolis -St Paul area,which is another area thas has a Trane factory.Other drownings of young men occurred in Cinncinati,Columbus,Clarkville.All of those cities do training for Trane HVAC technicians and at least some have workshops for management. |
