Can you live off of Raman Noodles? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 427001 United States 05/03/2008 06:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | when i was in college i ate the noodles without cooking them. i would pour the powder on a plate a dip the raw noodles into the powder and eat then that way. Quoting: LSAlthough I hate you, I do relate..lol! When I was in college, I recall I could go to a White Castle and have a semblance of a meal for $3!! Not so nutritious, but it was enough to keep my young brain firing in the proper manner... Getting back to the original subject, I'd venture to say the answer is no. Empty calories...HOWEVER, if a person was smart enough to obtain some amino acids (let's say from sprouting beans) and some alternative protein, they might last a while on that.. |

The spice pack being the worst part. If you throw out the spices, well, what the fuck, regular pasta is way cheaper. Personally I would recommend whole grain rice with black beans. That and a banana is just about all the nutrition you need. Does get a little boring after a while. |

AC User ID: 426612 Australia 05/03/2008 07:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh yeah!!! I did it much of my college years. I absolutely love poaching an egg in with the noodles when they were cooking. I also use the seasoning packet to season the water BEFORE I cook the noodles. The instructions always say to cook the noodles first then add the seasoning. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 335962Eggs used to be the cheapest form of protein. Not so cheap anymore, but still the best source of a complete protein amino acid chain. 1. You should cook them in boiling water, then rinse in cold. The noodles are saturated in starch. If you eat frequently very bad for your health. 2. Boil fresh water and add the flavoring. Now add the cold rinsed noodles to the soup mix and eat. Remember this dehydrated shit comes from China. It needs to be boiled and then cold rinsed. 3. They are called Ramen noodles not Raman. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 383623 United States 05/03/2008 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | use 2 packages and boil until just tender not a lot like they tell you to. drain the water off and add butter or marg or whatever you have. stir in 1/2 pkg of the seasoning, stir it all together and add a little soy sauce. you can use the whole packet if you want, it was too salty for me when I did, that's why I used 1/2. if you have anything extra back in the fridge somewhere you can stir that in if you like but I always liked this plain you can live off them, they fill your stomach but are very fattening and have no real nutritional value. Far better to get a cheap loaf of white bread and a jar of peanut butter. imo |

Skeptical Believer User ID: 269684 United States 06/11/2008 10:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can also just buy a box of macaroni for about .60 which is a lot more food, cook it the same way or nuke it and just add some cheap seasoning like garlic pepper salt,etc... and to be really cheap--go into restaurants and cafeterias and stuff your pockets with little packets of soy sauce, parmesan cheese and others. And use these "free" flavorings in the macaroni. I've been there done that and it's a little healthier than Ramen Noodles. Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA Some say the end is near. Some say we'll see armageddon soon. I certainly hope we will. I sure could use a vacation from this Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of Freaks. |
