And if enough people tinker with it, something new may be developed to beat the dependance on gas, however, the inventors out there might want to be careful because Big Oil frowns on this kind of research, especially by Joe Citizen.

It could be. I just pulled it from Kents web page. There is a guy in town installing these for $400, and is guarenteed to save you 50% on gas. I just heard about these last week, and am trying to find a kit, rather then make it from scratch.

If your vehicle is equipped with an "on board computer" here is what you will probably end up with, as I did. The "HHO" or "Brown's Gas" is easy to create, and when you split the water, it is indeed quite flammable, I can attest to that. I'm no longer allowed to play with the hydrogen atom in the house anymore. HeHe..
Anyway, here is what happens on computer controlled (o2 sensor) equipped vehicles.
1.The hydrogen does burn, and very well. Matter of fact, it turns back into water after combustion. Pretty cool, huh? The bad news is most o2 sensors read it as a "lean" indication, and do what they do...richen the fuel mixture. I have found 2 methods that work. Easy and not so easy. The easy way is to remove the 02 sensor from the exhaust airstream. This is done the easiest with a simple spacer. It does work, however you need to keep your hydrogen cell functioning or fuel mileage to take a big poopoo. The "not so easy" method is to come up with a method to "fool" the o2 sensor. Since most run between 0-.5 volts DC, this can be done with simple resistors, and many places are selling the control circuits online in a nice neat little package. Beat the way I had to go around it, looks better and will probably be much more dependable. Nonetheless, my 1/2 ton Chevy truck with a 326 gets an honest 27 mpg now. It is kind of a pain, as your cell has to be maintained on a regular basis. But at nearly 4 bucks a gallon, and prices heading north as I type, it's a worthwhile trade. Fuck OPEC anyway we can. We're going broke, yet windfall profits are being reported by the "7 Ugly Sisters", so to speak.
What do you want to bet just me sharing this with you makes me a "Bad American" in some folks eyes? Bad American indeed. I'm sick and tired of being expected to be stupid like a good little American. So I guess I'm bad...bad the the fricking bone....

i too have researched this everytime the gas prices go up, i mean it sounds all good,
but there are a lot of possible drawbacks, one of them being engine rusting and failure
they tried this on mythbusters too to no avail
i smelled scam when i read the first article and was waiting for the op to post the link to the unit he was obviously selling, and then it came up
pretty expensive for a kit u can supposedly make by yourself

Here ya go.
The first two are the "generator" bottle. I make HHO charged water with it in my garage.
The second two are the "bubbler bottle" that stays in the truck filled with the charged water.
Next step is to produce the HHO on demand in the vehichle, but I think I will have to create a "cheater circuit" to fool the O2 and MAF sensors at that point.

You'd think this would generate more interest!
I've gone from 18 mpg to 21 mpg in my V8, 4500 pound truck, for the cost of a few dollars and a couple hours tinkering in the garage. It's well worth the effort at $3.50 per gallon!
I am TOTALLY interested in this.
Alas, but I'm merely a chick who has NO mechanical inclinations whatsoever, and my boyfriend really doesn't know anything about this stuff either. Plus he's the type who when he gets mad, he starts breaking things, so I really wouldn't want him working on my car AT ALL! He'd probably smash my engine in anger, lol.
Right now I only drive my car one day a week, so gas isn't too much of a problem for me. But next month I'll be moving halfway across the country to Illinois, and I for sure won't be able to walk to work anymore. I know i'll be driving my car WAY more often. I'm dreading this and really getting stressed out over how much more money I'll be spending on transportation and gas really soon.
I would be willing to pay someone to convert my car like this.
Any takers?

close to 15% better mileage. It went from about 18 mpg on the highway to 21 mpg.

No you wont be able to remove the 02 sensor completely unless you went with a carbed setup. IMO that would be the easyest way to go about it becayse all you would have to do is tinker with the fuel jets. Who ever said they will be moving to ill next month i live in michigan and am tinkering with a few ideas right now. Once i get a system up and running ill be glad to help you out. Its actually a lot simpler then you might think. Get a 9volt battery and take 2 paper clips and str8en them out and hook them up to the battery. then put them in the water (not touching each other of coarse)you should see the electrolysis immediately.

Hey folks yes you can build your own but all of them have problems, mainly introduction of caustics to your engine. I have one on my truck and get 23% savings and this design doesn't use caustics. hamptonroadshydrogen.com
Click on the technology page, their design just uses distilled water and a little sodium and magnesium as an electrolite. Very cool and it works!
a engine in a vehicle is too hot to keep anything around. Plus the air/fuel mixture is constantly being removed. Caustic gases are not a problem. If anything it will clean your engine.

There are a few precautions you should watch out for. while testing use a fan or in a well ventilated area. the gases are VERY explosive and harmful to your health
forget that website. Go to overunity.com . its a website made for open source projects for free energy not only for water fracturing but others as well.

Evil twin ive been reading that lye will work much better for you with Much much much less sludge. i think the drain unclog stuff called red devil contains 100% lye. Just be very careful with it.
BTW cool design on your cell!wrap more wire around it and youll get more hoh out of it... But then youll notice a lot more current going through it as well.
