Afghanistansupplies some 93 percent of the world's opium used to make heroin, and the Taliban militants earn up to $100 million from the drug trade, the United Nations estimates. The export value of this harvest was $4 billion — more than a third of the country's combined gross domestic product
That is total B.S when the Taliban were in control of Afghanistan They Outlawed All Cultivation OF Poppy In All Of The Areas They Controlled! During this time the Afghan opium crop hit its lowest harvest in history. This really set off the Euro drug cartels because Afghanistan is their cash cow. the Afgan's don't make much but after you take the raw opium base and cook it into heroin its worth billions every year.
The U.N is a fucking joke. This story is A spin for one of the two reasons they invaded Afghanistan.
