U.S. Army Gearing Up for Something ... Big?
Received – Wednesday May 7, 2008

This afternoon, I received a call from my niece in Texas. Her husband is in the service. They live near the base in an area where many other families in the service live. Yesterday, she received a visit from some kind of army personnel, as well as many of her girlfriends who also have husbands serving. From what I understand, this is what took place. She was given several locations as well as dates and times to show up for "commodities", as well as a location on base they were required to show up today. She said the area on base they were told to go to, she was familiar with, only this time, there were large tents set up, one of which they were told to go to. She told me her fears were she would be told her husband was going to be sent overseas, however this wasn't the case.

She said they were told that they would be taken care of, and to begin to stock up on non perishables. They were given a voucher for what she stated were "large sacks" of beans, rice and other "non perishables". Also informed that generators would be provided. Times and dates to pick up these commodities. They were also handed out some kind of contract that the "spouses" of personal were required to sign. It stated they were not at liberty to share this information with civilians. Her and several others when asking about what is going on, they were told the Army takes care of their own. This took place in Texas. Anyone with any info please post.

I got a friend that has been out of Iraq for over two years now. Got a letter last week calling him back for 400 more days in Iraqi Freedom, starting May 18th. Not sure if they are gearing up, but I did find this interesting considering current state of world affairs.

Look at it from a psycho point of view. It would not be a good thing if the SHTF with the guys in boots wondering what was happening to their families. They would get the news, but if they couldn't phone home, I would imagine the war in Iraq would be over!

For what it's worth...from another site...5/8/08

I have been shopping the last 2 days for more storable food and everywhere I checked there were tons of out of stock/ backordered food. Nitro-pak was no longer taking phone orders and theyre internet was down. AAOOB has a 2 month waiting list. Mountain house has a 3 month waiting time. Beprepared.com has almost no freeze dried food left. Honeyville is out of lots of things and on and on. I don't know if everyone woke up all at once or the govt. is buying everything up but me thinks something wicked this way comes! With Burma wiped out there goes the last of the major rice supply. Maybe the enormous amount of food the govt. is buying they plan on sending it to those poor disaster ridden folks? NOT!

However, Nitro-Pak does have a message dated 5/9 that says 10-18 business days to ship - and longer for food - due to "EXTREMELY high customer demand". Curious.

I don't know if this has anything to do with anything or not, but, I have a compass set up in a particular spot and I check it every once in a while to see if North is still North. Twice this week I have checked it and it has been off anywhere from 2 -3 degrees and most of the time when I check it it has been rock solid on the North. I don't know if that has anything to do with the N.A.S.A. announcement coming up or not.

Does anybody else have a compass set up? I know some people were doing it a few years ago and that is what got me started in doing it. Over that time frame it has moved maybe 1 or 2 degrees on a rare moment. This is the first time I have seen move as much and as often in a short time frame. It has moved off and back on twice in 3 days.

Stock up things you wouldn't normally think about like cigarettes even if you aren't a smoker. Some smokers would more than happily swap food for a smoke. Other things like toilet paper, cotton swabs,pads,balls, and other cotton products. Medical stuff like band-aids, antiseptic stuff, sutures, scalpels, aspirin, pain relieving pills lotions creams etc.,

Basically anything you can use for yourself or to trade along with food and water for yourself and yours. I listened to a interview of someone in Argentina that said gold, silver and money did no good. If you can't eat it or wear it it is no good to you.

Oh well anyway good luck to everybody if it is anything. Even if it turns out to be nothing I think the way things are these days everybody should be stocking up on anything and everything if ma nature don't get us the government will.

Think people, prepare or suffer the consequence!
