yes that sounds foolish. get close them and blackmail them instead. you'll feel a lot better about it when you're sitting in a million euro Tuscan villa.

Re: advice. am i foolish to take down the managers and GM of my company for internal theft?Quote

Depends on the company. Is there a corporate headquarters? Are you a stockholder? If it's a small, privately held company, can you reach the owner? Do you like your job?

Not much help I know. I believe in doing the right thing whenever possible, and that rarely includes blackmail.

On the other hand, if a million euro Tuscan villa is a real possibility...

I believe if you knowingly have information about fraud being committed, do nothing about it and they then get caught, that you could be held as an accessory after the fact, but don't quote me on that.

yes there is a corporate HQ. it's the leader in what it does. its no microsoft of course, not THAT large of importance, but...i cant stand that kind of stuff...internal theft at the highest level while they preach the opposite. i know it goes on all the time but each situation is brought to a person for a reason

that's why you insist on a one time only large sum and then disappear forever. you don't extort money from someone and then carry on in your day job, you do it right and change your life (and continent).

Usually a corp. like that will have a security officer of some sort. Try to reach them, but you'd better have real evidence of something specific, and bigger than office supplies, or you'll look extra foolish on the unemployment line.

OP, I would just be happy if you could make GM admit that the rocker panels and cab corners on their trucks rust through on purpose.

yeah..its definitely more than paper clips hehe.

i'm currently gathering the evidence, have a substantial amount, definitely enough for action, but theres the need for 150% undeniable proof that it cant be passed off on anyone else that i am still searching for.

Well if you need your job just know that the corruption in your company is known and condoned by the higher ups.

Corruption is rampant in many corporations today. Whistleblowers get destroyed/fired. I would never report anything inside your company. The only way to protect yourself is to report it anonymously outside your company with information that cannot lead back to you.

Before I did anything I would first make copies of as much corruption as I could get my hands on. If they know you have copies of information that could bring them down then you have a bargaining chip.

There was this very pretty girl that joined this big corporation right out of school. She went right to the top. She began stealing money from the company and they caught her. They then brought charges against her. But they soon mysteriously dropped the charges.....paid her a big sum of money and she left just as happy as she could be.

Come to find out she went around having affairs with all....and I mean "all" of the big shots in the corporation and had recorded them while they talked on the phone about sex. She also had video of the sex encounters. Seems her husband was in on it and helped secretly record the videos. They set those corporation leaders up big time and got away with it.

Be prepared for headaches. Even if you have the proof & they fire the miscreants, saving the stockholders tons of money, people will look on you as a troublemaker.

Turn the theives in anonymously. Send an anonymous tip to the CEO or the media or even the police, whichever you think would be the most effective in your particular situation. This way you do the right thing without putting yourself at risk. Good luck.

thats the thing....they already see me as a mover and a shaker, whom people rally behind in times of rough decisions and harsh moments in the company. thats my major issue with this...i'm seen as the outsider who came in, stands out in a "he doesnt fit the mold" type of way, yet performs above and beyond what is expected, and its greatly seen by all..
i'm afraid thats what would be my own demise, if i proceeded.

It probably would. Like some others have said, find a way to do it anonymously. Or find a way to convince your worst enemy to do it. Be the last man standing.

If your story isn't bs, which I question.... I hope you are not at work today on their computer typing this. I am sure as wise and being the mover and shaker that you are you are aware of them having access to your computer and are more that likely monitoring in some fashion. food for thought... of course, I already know you are not at work...

Why would I even consider typing this from a work computer?...I had the morning off today for personal reasons, but I will be there until rather late tonight, leaving pretty soon.

Just from what you have said I think if I were you I'd take my time...keep gathering more proof of wrong doing and wait for the right time to out these people. Make sure you make more than one copy and give it to outside friends for safekeeping. What you want to do has to be well planned and not just something you do on the fly.
