leaving my newly rented house to live in a tent
can't afford my new house rental! only been here a month and a half and put all my money into this place, first, last months rent and damage deposit, energy deposit, energy bill and phone/internet bill. cleaning supplies, groceries, and furniture. dream rental, but it's too far out into the boonies, gas, car maintenance is killing me, car insurance, very little work near by. the commute to the closest work is like 40 mins away, with todays gas prices, i'm hooped! thought i would be able to find work closer, but guess not.

thankfully it's almost summer, im getting out of this rental, will loose last months rent and i doubt he'll give me the damage deposit back either, will probably give all my furniture to thrift stores, but i don't care! i'm going to live in a tent, nearby where i can get some work! i'm kind of excited! live in a rural forest area, so it's not that bad! gotta go with the times!

I bought a small portable fan from HyVee of all places yesterday and is cost $8.00!!! I runs for over 100 hours on 2 D batteries! It might be worth having for an unusually still and sultry night.Do be careful. Do not leave food around the tent and don't ever have the smell of blood on you if you rae in an area with wild cats or bears.Do you have a plan for high winds or tornados?

you rented a house and it only took you 1 1/2 months to move out because of expense? either you have no grasp of financial matters or you are a complete liar looking to stir the turds.

Agreed. Why would a single person need to rent an ENTIRE HOUSE? You could have survived in a 1-room or studio apartment.

Re: leaving my newly rented house to live in a tent
I pay $370 a month for all utilities paid and take home probably $2200 a month pay.

I lucked out.. quiet and clean, nice view, big windows, very spacious as it's a studio and basically the same size as other one bedrooms except it's just one big room instead of more smaller ones..

I couldn't be happier. hf

It's great to be free, to not be chained down to having to live a "normal" life filled with women and expensive toys that suck away all one's disposable income...

If this were the case, figure out how you will be bathing and washing clothing.

No one will hire you if you are stinky!

Better to have someone move into your rented house and share expenses!

Re: leaving my newly rented house to live in a tent
I seriously doubt you will find tent living to be up to the standards that you are accustomed.

Besides, wait until the rest of the world learns you do not have a residence address. Homeless people (tent people) tend to be quickly regulated to the fringes of society.

Further there is the small matter of running water.

When I was a kid we did not have running water - unless you consider running out to the well, dropping the bucket, and running the water back into the house as running water. We used an outhouse, had to sponge baths in winter and 'shower' under the 55 gal barrel in summer.

Imagine running out side in the snow to go to the bathroom.

It was not 'fun'. Didn't have 'lectricity either - lights from kerosene. No TV no Radio, etc.

i think a system of "makeshift canals" and buckets could provide plenty of water for drinking ect, just from rainwater.

plus they guy said hes still going to live normally in town, have a job ect, just his residence will be a tent..

hell likely be able to fill water bottles daily from a water fountain or bathroom sink

And where would a "tent dweller" park his car?

You cant just set up a tent on the side of the road.

I have to raise the flag on this one.

Put your furniture and things into storage for a monthly fee.

Save up for a small RV with a potty and electrical hookups. More and more people are living in RV's and RV parks or just campgrounds.

Unlike a trailer park home, you can move it easily every time you need to go elsewhere to get a job. Some Walmarts and shopping centers are even allowing RV's to park in their lots overnight. You can probably find that info on-line or on any of the RV-er sites.
