lol, good, you need many many more kudos. GDW, what do you think of Goro Adachi's work? Both you and him (whomever it is) have very similar higher intelligence.

GDW, thanks for the response. Ok, off topic on this post but do you think Weinland is correct with his predictions? Not necessarily if he is one of the two witnesses per say, but if his predictions are potentially accurate for the next 45-90 days or so (less than that now since he first stated it)?
He is the best that I have seen. His timing stuff is really good. I have learnt plenty from him. He can't be one of the so called 'witness'' because he stutters and splutters just like everyone else does right at the juicy stuff, like Chapter 9; everyone dodges Chapter 9. If I was in his position, I would have declared my wife the second witness for sure...I think he is right there.
But he is so Abrahamic!!! He even says so...it's so typical...it's like he simply ignores the rest of the world.

I know this is no help, but I saw this show on the history channel about the mayan calendar and 2012 that explained what it was all about and the counting system they used and how they calculated it. They talked about constellations and stuff too.
All I remember, is that it had something to do with our sun being in the cross hairs of two lines.
The first was something like a big dark band, not a constellation, but a part of they sky that they said represented the underworld or death.
The second was a constellation or somesuch that represented some life goddess or the 'tree of life' (not the biblical item by the same name).
My understanding after seeing the show was that sometime in 2012, the two lines will be perfectly perpendicular to each other, and our sun will be right where they cross each other.
I'm more of a biblical 'end-times' prophecy enthusiast, but it was a pretty cool program.
I hope this helps clear up the whole 'planetary alignment' vs 'galactic alignment' thing. Has anyone else seen the program that I'm talking about? |

If catastrophic events DID loom just over the horizon, do you think N.A.S.A would say so 4 years prior to the event?
It would result in the immediate end of society as it is now, with people walking off of jobs, price gouging, profiteering, and in general a chaos which not even the U.S military could control. This would also bring about the end of the governments own 2012 safety preparations as money becomes worthless, and work stops on all of the D.U.M.Bs, and Ark projects.
It is simple, if you wait for the government to officially announce the coming cataclysms you will die, unless one of the lucky few chosen to survive. |

I used a program called Stellarium and found that the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto will all be aligned in the sky on Dec. 21st 2012. Below is a screenshot:

2012 Mayan Prophesy on History Channel
This Thursday August 3rd, 9 pm, the History Channel (US) is showing “Decoding the Past; Mayan Doomsday Prophecy”. According to this University of Central Florida (UCF) article, it’s going to be a rational article featuring UCF professor Arlen Chase who has been studying the Maya for several decades and has written more than 100 articles about the subject:
Some of the prophecies left behind by the Maya indicate that when a 4,000 year cycle in the Maya calendar closes, Armageddon will be upon us.
“But nothing is going to happen,” Chase said. “The show is very well done, showing different points of view. It’s very interesting and the graphics are fantastic, but that doesn’t change the fact nothing is going to happen Dec. 21, 2012. I think some people are misinterpreting the Maya.”
During the hour-long program, Chase talks about the complex calendar from Chichen Itza, the heart of the Maya civilization deep in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. Clear graphics, stunning landscape from several ruins and dramatic re-enactments take the viewer through a lively look at the doomsday myth and potential warnings for avoiding it.
Well, I hope he’s right and that the “show is very well done”, as he says. More often than not these pieces play for the woo ratings; the fact that there is to be “a group of archaeologists, astrologers, and historians to speculate on the meaning of the 2012 prophecy” (astrologers?) is not encouraging. Nor is the program’s title, or the look at ways to avoid “doomsday”. Still, let’s hope this program lives up to its skeptical promise, and that they allow scientists like Chase more than the usual two sentences.
(Note: the Mayan calendar doesn’t “end” in 2012 any more than the western calendar “ended” on January 1st 2000 – the count just starts again. Boring but true.) |

mine was actually 12/21/2012 but the time was for 12:12 and 12 seconds :P
I also found that a meteorite shower lasting 2 days happened on this date using Stellarium.
your right most dates point to the 12-21-2012 some people say the 12th but majority are on the 21, I think that 21st sounds more reasonable given that we have been following the myan calender so closely. |

Nope, you are right; the planetary alignments happened in 2007, ie the galactic cross. What happens in 2012, is that our solar system, goes topside to the galactic eliptic. Picture the galaxy as a record, relatively flat. Our solar system has been on the underside of it, now its about to go topside, thus crossing the galactic plane. That is what the Mayans were talking about.
PS: Comet Holmes also happened in 2007... |
