Will employers / family / girlfriends run google searches on people?
Quote

A thief has stolen money from me, so I am trying to spread as much information on the internet so that anyone who googles him will know that he's a low-down thief.

While I'll never get that money back, I am hoping that it is me paying to deliver someone's karma, it is divine, not revenge. That's all I can do.

So I want any employer, or girlfriend who ever googles this guy to know he's a thief. Is this an effective tool? Will these people actually use google to search up their relatives, or applicants or BF's?

Well I have already written the bad things, and can't change them, but I am interested in karma, so what should I do? It is too late to erase them... should I e-mail him and say that he is forgiven? I am confused. It doesn't seem right to just let this man steal from me

They'll see it. Spell the name correctly so the Google search brings up the right person. And keep yourself anonymous. If the thief wants you to take down the page about him, tell him you'll do it as soon as you get your money back. But don't take the page down. People deserve to be warned about con artists and thieves.

Forgiveness is really powerful. I don't think it's necessary to express it, to the offender, only that it be true forgiveness

I try not to have any ill will towards people, and if I do, I try and work it out, within myself. sometimes it takes expressing myself, expressing the frusteration.

the sooner I address it though, the better. if I counter strike, then I have to also forgive myself, and hope that I haven't continued the cycle.

if the person's name is a common one, than your online defamation would probably go unnoticed, by the theif and any people that would be seeking info on him.

if you would, but can't erase what you've written, than don't sweat it. the sooner you are at peace over the matter the better.

the solution, I beleive is not in reaction, but in acheiving peace.

perhaps the theft was a lesson of some sort. it's amazing what greed, jellousy and emptiness will do to the weak. I say the person is pathetic and needs help, not retribution

There's always a way, depending on how serious you are. Email the webmaster, edit the posts, make phone calls, whatever it takes. Be honest, cheesy will win you cluelessness from people who don't want to do this for everybody that posts something stupid, they'd have to hire hordes of people to keep up.

Second, in the long run, he didn't steal from you, he stole from himself. You won't be there when/if he needs you in the future, you've trashed him already, so he's not going to have your support when he needs support. The money, especially large quantities, can be painful, but there are worse things than losing money. Ease your own pain, considering it getting off cheap, he took a lot at once, you know the game. Some people have small amounts stolen over long periods, that add up pretty significantly, or relationships ruined, property wrecked, etc.

Old Tibetan quote is something like, "Don't speak against your betrayer, karma will return to your offender far stronger if you maintain your purity in the dispute."

Basically, bitching ruins karma's punch. Maybe, with you keeping a cooler head, he'll need your money for a down payment on the hospital bills when karma balances the books. :)
Be offended. It's my gift to you.
For a few seconds, it means you're awake...

I'm sure the thief is counting on no one having the guts to publicise what he does. Thus giving him free reign to prey on other unsuspecting victims.

Yup. If he can't PROVE that he took his money, he may just sue him for slander...this could cost the OP thousands in damages.

I've lost job ops in the past because of Google. Let's not go there. I'm done working though.
