and see what you will be up against.

Have you thought about traps and snare wire, there are a few good videos and books covering this topic - eg. www.survival.com - you will need to familiarise yourself with this before you rely on it for survival. |

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as healthy survival food? I went to the story today and got a bunch of organic canned veggies, but that's about as much as I could find. Most canned goods I saw were only good until 2009 or 2010. I don't want to buy foods loaded with sugar, a shitload of preservatives, etc. I would also like to buy stuff that lasts past 2012. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Clean water.
You will need 3 large unglazed plant pots, preferably the type without holes in the center, (or use good quality corks to fill the hole) one larger plastic tub, one wooden chair. (plus spares)
Cutout the middle of the wooden chair such that a pot is firmly supported around two thirds to three quarters near its rim. (or use what you have to hand.)
Place the other pots inside each other so that you have a stack of three pots, fill the top pot with the raw water, place the plastic tub under the chair.
With time you will have clean water in the plastic tub, note: this water will be tasteless but very clean.
Larger pots produce more water, remove and scrub the top pot in clean water weekly, keep away from sunlight to reduce algae in the pots.
Three 12" pots will produce enough drinking water for two people daily.
Try this at home, use smaller pots but realize the quantity of water will be much smaller. Quoting: Prof-Rabbit 148352
make sure these pots are Earthen ware terracotta and not 'stone ware'... The vitrified state of 'stone ware' will not allow water to pass through. |

I think we need to act now in stocking up for tough times! If the mayans are right and the end of the world is dec 21, 2012 and the bible says seven years before the end of the world tribulation will begin, then three and a half after that desolation begins and thats what we need to prepare for! My calculations point to june/july of 2009 is when desolation will start!
