Women feel they justifiably reserve the right to keep "bad boys" on the side beacuse the "nice guy" they married doesn't adequately "tend to their needs." Men have to be attractive on some physical level. Otherwise, why bother? Make your own money, be independent, and enjoy a little eye candy. Men do the same. Women can too.

I've seen a lot of supposedly beautiful women on television that I find homely. But of course, television is a poor frame of reference for anything unless it's a documentary. If you're going to ask why one woman finds a guy attractive and her friend doesn't, then various factors such as personality matching, pheromones, peer and parental influences, and others things could be involved. And anyway, some (most?) people aren't as shallow and conceited as the article's title suggests they should be.

If you have a well-charged credit card then you look good even if you're ugly and handicapped! :-)

It depends why the guy is living at home. If he is sponging off his parents and partying, then he's a loser.
If he is taking care of his parents, or had a downturn in luck, but is contributing to them in some way and trying to better himself, then I don't mind at all. Taking care of one's parents is an honorable thing.

Has it ever occurred to you that attraction can be very subjective? What's "ugly" to you might be attractive to another. I, for example, don't care so much for "pretty boys." As long as the guy is tall and in decent shape, his face doesn't have to be that gorgeous..in fact I prefer the more masculine, non-pretty faces on guys. And I'm only talking about the physical part. Personality, intelligence, confidence, sense of humork, and how he acts with me are also a part of attraction. So...it's complex.

Exactly, I'm more attracted to shorter guys around 5'7 - 5'10 because i'm only 5'4. I dated a tall guy once and i felt like a dwarf. I mean he could pick me up and toss me across the room. Scared the hell outta me lol.

I also notice when you start dating a guy they start really taking better care of themselves. They smell good all the time and dress nice. I think women do that too. Love will make you all happy and nice and funny and look so much better. That's probably why when you are with someone they look better over time.

we are not equals though. in seeing this we balance each other. not saying men are so much better than us but trying to find an equal to me is not part of my journey. honest to God stumbling blindly along innocent and not caring about a mans's looks, or money, property or their staus in society but instead maybe fumbling blindly at times stumbling in my own little non carnal world looking for that look in another's eyes that exceeds all things carnal but has not a thing to do with being their my equal becauser i do not try but when coming together natural somehow non effortlessly balances the other without even trying is simple unwritten magic.
