Saudi Arabia has already passed peak oil. Their biggest and richest field has production dropping off and there is no way to speed it up. Their total production is now down over a million barrels per DAY from their peak a few years ago. Bush and every other oilman knows they can't increase production, he is just playing a "Blame that Arab" game.

The US gets most of the oil from Canada, Than Saudi Arabia and next is Mexico. Why isn't he asking Canada and Mexico? Anyway how would that help? There is no sortage. No long lines. The price is high because he ruined the dollar.Isn't it only worth about 75 cents vs the euro? I bought Canadain oil about a year and a half ago at $72.00. It closed today at almost $135.00.

LOL
Iraq is supposed to ship the US 562,000 barrels of oil per day to pay for the occupation forces. They can only muster up half that amount.
Iraq has the capacity to produce 2 million barrels of crude per day. However it is struggling to ramp up over 1 million barrels per day.

Meanwhile gas thirtsy Yanks gobble up 20 million barrels a day. We only produce half of what we consume at best (usually a lot less).

The only way to control the market is to control the beast who is using it (ie. you and I). Ergo, high gas prices will get higher until Americans learn to consume half of what they did in the past.

I predicted last year that gas prices and the dollar devaluation would likely stabilize at about $6.87 a gallon. Get used to it! That is the Brave New World we are living in.

This isn't the 20th century anymore. We have got to awaken to the new reality...We are a third world nation with the world's largest debt and we have lost our economic prowess. China is poised to take over the world now. Are we ready?

Why should OPEC drop their prices when American oil companies haven't dropped theirs' ? Well, they have dropped theirs, as in their pants off their asses which are showing badly at this point.
Now if you think about it, ask yourself this. Why the hell are we paying for oil prices on the barrel from American companies drilling American oil that belong to US, YOU & ME, and all the citizens of the USA ? WHY ?
WE own it. I can see paying for processing and delivery. But why are we paying for what we already own ?
Why are we paying taxes on gasoline at the pump when we aren't profiting from that gasoline ? The oil companies are profiting, not paying taxes, and have shut down processing plants that by rights, We the People actually own.
Oil and gasoline taken from our borders belongs to WE the PEOPLE. Not the goverment, and not the oil companies.
They deserve a small and reasonable return on their investments in order to keep the plants running, and new ones built.
Other than that, it is a publicly owned commodity, and we deserve to use our publicly owned commodities at prices that don't gouge us , or damage other industries.
It is time for We the People to force public ownership of the oil companies, and processing plants. That way, salaries and prices will be controlled. No more multimillion bonuses to assholes who think stealing from us is funny.

Saudi Arabia Says It Will Boost Oil Output in June (Update5)

By Janine Zacharia

May 16 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, will increase crude production next month in response to rising demand from its customers and a request by U.S. President George W. Bush to ease the strain of record prices.

The country will raise output by 300,000 barrels a day, or 3.3 percent, to 9.45 million barrels a day in June, Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said in Riyadh today, following a meeting between Bush and Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah.

``The president has asked the Saudis to produce oil to meet demand,'' Tony Fratto, a White House spokesman, said in Riyadh after Naimi's remarks. ``He was reassured by the king that they have increased production as the market demands.''

Crude oil futures traded in New York rose to a record about one hour after Bush landed in Saudi Arabia today. They later settled at $126.29, an increase of $2.17, or 1.7 percent, though below the day's high after the promise to boost production. Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil exporter and the most influential member of OPEC.

``It's just a token increase but it shows that the Saudis realize just how important it is for the president to not come back empty handed,'' said Peter Beutel, president of Cameron Hanover Inc. in New Canaan, Connecticut. ``This is about a lot more than oil. The special relationship between the countries is at stake.''

Earlier today, before Naimi's remarks, U.S. National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said the Saudi policy was to supply extra oil only if customers needed it.

Saudi Increase

``On May 10 we increased our response to our customers by 300,000 barrels because they asked for it,'' al-Naimi said later. ``So our production for June will be 9.45 million barrels per day. This is the request of about 50 customers worldwide.''

In another sign of cooperation, Saudi Aramco, the kingdom's state-run oil company, and U.S.-based ConocoPhillips said they will build and own a 400,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Yanbu on the Saudi Red Sea Coast, to be completed by 2013.

Oil prices have doubled in the past year on surging demand, supply disruptions in places such as Nigeria and commodity purchases by investors as a hedge against a weakening U.S. dollar. The price surge threatens to accelerate inflation and curb economic growth.

``The Saudis have engineered this to make it look like they're doing something to help, but the market is rightfully skeptical,'' said Robert Laughlin, a senior broker at MF Global Ltd. in London.

Filling the Gap

``As far as the U.S. is concerned, most of the 300,000 came from the U.S. and we responded to it on May 10,'' al-Naimi said, referring to the kingdom's production increase. Saudi Arabia is making up for output losses from other countries, such as Nigeria, Venezuela and Mexico, he said.

Production from the 13 members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries fell by about 390,000 barrels a day in April, to 31.7 million barrels a day, largely because of declines in Nigeria, according to a monthly report yesterday from OPEC's secretariat, which cited estimates from secondary sources.

Some Nigeria production was lost because of a strike at Exxon Mobil Corp.'s facilities and because of militant attacks on Royal Dutch Shell Plc pipelines. The West African nation is usually one of the largest crude suppliers to the U.S.

Saudi Production

The same OPEC report said Saudi Arabia's April production was 9.02 million barrels a day, down 37,000 barrels a day from a month earlier. Nigeria's output fell by 251,000 barrels a day. The Saudi supply increase will offset declines last month, MF Global's Laughlin said.

The Saudi oil minister said Bush was satisfied ``because our response is positive. If you want to move more oil you need a buyer,'' al-Naimi said at a press conference at the Saudi foreign ministry in Riyadh.

OPEC, which pumps more than 40 percent of the world's oil, has kept output targets unchanged during its past three meetings, on March 5, Feb. 1 and Dec. 5.

``I don't think there is a need for more oil'' from OPEC, Qatari Oil Minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said in a telephone interview. ``My customers aren't asking for more oil.''

The Qatari minister said recent reports from the International Energy Agency have shown reductions in demand forecasts and added that there is ``no need'' for OPEC to meet before its next scheduled conference on Sept. 9.

He declined to comment on Saudi Arabia's statement, saying it was a ``sovereign'' decision.

``This is good news for world oil markets and good news for President Bush, who appears to have used his personal relationship with King Abdullah to overcome Saudi reluctance to raise oil production and put downward pressure on world oil prices,'' said Jim Phillips, a Middle East analyst at the Heritage Foundation in Washington.

Saudi Arabia plans to boost oil production capacity to 12.5 million barrels a day by 2009, Naimi said, reiterating previous comments.

Fact: The one factor that really stopped the Nazis in ww2 was a lack of fuel for their armored divisions. Those divisions would easily have been capable of repelling the allies and conquoring what was left to take.

Fact: The connections between the nazis of yesterday, and the current administration and its world agenda. Too numerous to even begin bothering to list.

Fact: The best strategy for conquoring, time and time again, is to start with a beachhead (Afghanistan and Iraq, possibly even Israel as the main beachhead.) and then work your way out to areas that contain resources to keep the war/invasion machine going. Oil oil oil....

Fact: North America (US, Canada, and Mexico) all have proven huge reserves of oil, untapped, and some of which are larger than anything tapped or discovered before.

Why does it remain untapped? You hear the politicos talk about the fuel reserves of the US. Those reserves are the storage tank capacity that is networked throughout North America. These untapped/undeveloped resources in NA are the true reserves, to help further the war/ease public opinion at home, when it becomes necessary. Makes more sense to burn up and use everything your enemy has/had at their disposal, plant the flag, and move on.

Of course you can't very well do it outright lest you look like a military dictator/conquorer akin to Hitler. So you need to have a cause (War on Terror), and lots of politics from every side, from the homeland to the global stage, to help dilute the processes. This creates time.

That time is important, as it is necessary for change. Now, if you can buy that time, and have a created goal/ideal, all you really need is a fast acting military. A country can be sanctioned, bombed, invaded, and changed somewhat quickly nowadays. It may not look like it from the media point of view, but that capability is there.

Voila! The NWO uses a combination of zerg rushing and resource manipulation/acquisition to further their agenda, in the blink of an eye.

I just heard Robert Kennedy Jr. on Letterman speaking about the oil problem.
As in the example an above poster mentioned, Exxon just announced another $30 billion in quarterly profits. That's quarterly ! AAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

Multiply that by 7 for the 7 sister major oil companies, and we are talking about profits in excess of $200 BILLION per quarter.

Now, guess how much money the oil companies have invested in alternative energy tech.........Ah, come on now. Take a guess.
Oh the suspense. The 7 major oil companies have spent, drum roll please, $154 Million dollars on alternative energy tech. That's all. WHAT THE FUCK !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And in case anyone reading missed this juicy little tidbit, those same oil companies get huge tax breaks because they say they are using it to invest in alternative energy tech.

PROFITS, More than $200 Billion, $200, 000, 000, 000. 00
Investments, $154 Million dollars last year.

We need a way outside of the government to beat these greedy economic canibals at their own game. Anyone remember the movie 'Trading Places ' ?

In addition to the obscene profits, there is the futures market. Maybe one of the more astute market watchers can explain how that affects the price. If the commodity betters bet that oil will be 500 a barrel, that actually drives the price up, I think.
