HI susano. Good to 'see' you.
I don't pretent to know much about the futures markets, but I did see a few market watch programs that stated as much as 20 % of the price is based on speculators.
The market shouldn't be driving the pricing is what they said.
It seems to me that possibly we should take commodities out of the Stock Market competely. These are not typical products. There is more than enough to go around in almost all commodities.

As to the oil on the barrel pricing, I don't believe that Bush went there to plead for lower prices and greater supply. They are in bed with the Saud's as far as business is concerned, as are all the oil companies. Bush may have put on a good show, with the Arab's cooperation, but don't believe for a minute it was anything other than 'for show'.
It will be found that the Saudi's, OPEC, are a big part of the 9/11 planning. this includes the financial aspects and plans to devalue the dollar, and increase the price of oil. It was a cooperative effort. They were at the party where Larry Silverstein was approached to use his buildings as targets. The terrorist insurance policy was probably bought within the week of this. The Saudi's were there. Our military & government people involved, & the Saudi's. They also did some major banking finagling about the same time with Bush administration help.
Mark my words. This will be found to be true.
Think of all that has gone on, and the major US corps moving headquarters to Arabia, & Dubai. Think about the ports owned by the Saudi's. Supposed Saudi hijackers ( not really ), but Bush/Cheney attack Afghanistan & Iraq.
Nuts isn't it ? So , why didn't we attack the Saudi's ?
Maybe because the Saudi's want the ME oil even more the Bush & Cheney. But the Bush & Cheney interests live & die with the Saud's.

This is a set up!!! Notice how the oil stocks rallied friday upwards in price. The bottom is about to fall thru. The big boys were selling their stock as the middle class were sucked into buying friday when they heard the propaganda news report that the saudies were not going to increase supply. Everyone has been programed to think the price of oil is going to keep on going upwards. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS over the next few weeks as the price of oil comes down as well as the oil stocks. hf

The "Oil Sheiks" aren't the problem, the bulk of the oil money never reaches them, it goes to Exxon, Mobil, Sunoco, etc. As usual the main culprits are the corporate board members, who are in turn beholden to the central banks.
But I agree that it's time to get off the oil teat.

Saudi raises oil output to highest in two years after pleas from George Bush

Robin Pagnamenta,
London Times
Thursday, May 16, 2008

Saudi Arabia has disclosed, during a visit to the Kingdom by George Bush, that it has lifted oil production to its highest in two years.

But the agreement to pump an extra 300,000 barrels per day did little to relieve runaway oil prices, which had earlier struck a record high of nearly $128 a barrel.

The price of a barrel of US crude hit an all-time peak of $127.82 while London Brent rose $2.36 to $124.99.

The announcement from Saudi Arabia, the world's largest producer, to increase supplies by 3.3 per cent to 9.45 million barrels per day came during the second trip made by President Bush this year to visit King Abdullah in Riyadh.

(Article continues below)

Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said: "On May 10, we raised supplies to customers by increasing 300,000 barrels per day of oil (output) ... In the future if the need appears, Saudi Arabia has no objection to producing more."

He said most of the extra supplies would go to the US, the world’s largest oil consumer.

The picture was, however, muddied by warnings from the Kingdom that future rises in production would only come about in response to customer demand.

Naimi also warned the increase would not lead to a significant fall in prices paid at the pump in the US.

News of an increase in Saudi oil production came as the US said it would stop shipments to its strategic oil reserve for the second half of the year after Congress passed a bill calling for a suspension.

Saudi raises oil output to highest in two years after pleas from George Bush
Robin Pagnamenta, Energy and Environment Editor

The US Energy Department announced it had not signed a six-month contract for deliveries to the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), the world’s largest stockpile of government-owned emergency crude oil.

The decision affects up to 13 million barrels of crude.

US officials are concerned about the impact the oil price, which has doubled since last year, is having on the US economy, which is already under pressure from a sliding housing market and the credit crisis.

Oil prices have risen six-fold since 2002 amid booming demand from China and other developing economies, as well as constraints in global production capacity.

Other big producers including Russia and OPEC members Nigeria and Iran are either unwilling or unable to lift production.

While the announcement did prompt a slight easing in the oil price, traders said they were focused on a new price forecast from investment bank Goldman Sachs, which predicted oil prices would average $141 per barrel in the second half of this year because of weak global inventories.

Goldman Sachs is one of the most active investment banks in global energy markets and correctly predicted the current rally as far back as 2005.

That's why they're called DUMB-ocrats! Most of our oil comes from Canada, Mexico and domestic producers. Increasing production from someone way down the totem pole will not affect gas prices here at home at all. Very little Saudi oil reaches our shores and it is declining everyday because nobody wants USeless dollars. Everyday it cost more to buy the same amount of oil in US greenbacks. PROFITS, More than $200 Billion, $200, 000, 000, 000. 00
Investments, $154 Million dollars last year.
A new plant can be built in 2 years, for $2 Billlion, with a normal crew. If the oil companies really wanted to ease the crisis , they would quaddruple the crew, and get it done in 6 months. Logic says, they saw it coming, and did nothing to prevent it. Bad business practices.
So, logic then says, that means they planned it, & are profiting from it.
All the players came together pre 9/11. I figure that the Bush/Cheney/Saud/Halliburton consortium saw a way to take control of the entire ME, and use our money to do it.
And, the Bush to Hitler & doctrine ties sure as hell look a lot like how they planned to use us to do it.
Kissinger made a deal causing the Arabs to be liable for US debt, and I think the Bush's thought they could outsmart the Saud's. The Sauds saw 'em coming.

Tesla's free enrgy car. You decide who you want to believe.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 357422

Did you not read the article? Here's a sample:

"As the story goes, Tesla inserted the two metal rods and announced confidently, "We now have power" and then proceeded to drive the car for a week, "often at speeds of up to 90 mph." One account says the motor developed 1,800 rpm and got fairly hot when operating, requiring a cooling fan. The "converter" box is said to have generated enough electrical energy to also power the lights in a home."

In other words, this is just a story...there's nothing to show that this device actually existed and no one knows exactly what the device was or what it did.
