Four Of My Neighbor's Five Kids Were Injured In That Carnival Accident:(
She just sent us an email about it. We didn't even know and were shocked and saddened to learn that most of her kids were on that ride as it crashed to the ground. Ironically her youngest, the only boy, refused to ride it for some reason. He is now at home helping to care for his injured older sisters. The oldest, was taken by helecoptor to an area hospital and has multiple scrapes, bumps and bruises as well as some bleeding on her brain. Poor things...my heart really goes out to those kids. They must have been absolutely terrified, and are now suffering much pain...

I'm trying really hard to come up with a way to cheer them up...any ideas? they range in age from 7-14 the fourteen year old just had knee surgery so that she could finish cheerleading, and now she will have to be pulled off of the team due to her knees being so badly messed up from this accident:(

my husband and I were just discussing this. They certainly do have the option to sue multiple agencies over this one, but I'm sure the kids would have rather not had to go through such a terrifying and painful ordeal...at least their college will be paid for should they decide they want to go.

Gift baskets full of goodies. Do they have gameboys? Load them up with gameboy games and snacks. Do they like movies? Put some of those in too. Do they like to read? Some books would keep them calm and it would take their minds off of some of it hopefully.

Homemade treats? Premade Frozen meals for the parents so they can tend to the kids? I would throw in a good dose of prayer too. (I know.. not the popular vote on GLP but it's what I would do.)

I hope they are well soon. Take care.

Well, you know it does suck. Lawsuits suck.

However the prevailing wind blows with Vichy so I see no reason not to complain.

They have been well paid to see to the proper function of the machinery, they have covered themselves with insurance for just such an occasion, therefore a complaint equal to damages and costs with a fair value markup should be expected.

Unfortunate and unavoidable at the same time, no one wants to get broadsided by a drunken illegal alien though it seems to happen all too often. That is an occasion where one might scream for recourse.

Perhaps we should address what is simply laid before us.

I suspect those kids will heal fast, and enjoy being spoiled for a few months!

thanks ET...I hope you're right. I know if it had been me, I would have been traumatised for life! I just know how vulnerable I already feel on those rides, always imagining the worst. Imagine doing that and then all of a sudden the worst happens. hiding
