I have a friend who used to consume a great deal of the ASS stuff. She quit and about two weeks ago ran out of the sweetener she now uses so she used some of the other stuff and was dam near hallucinating. aspartic acid is an excitotoxin, it overstimulates your brain cells and then kills them |

I don't know how they get away with selling gum advertised as sugar gum and have all those artificial sugar and they are selling it to children. I buy Spry gum from ebay store: [link to stores.shop.ebay.com] I hope this helps |

I also find at old fashioned candy stores Freshen Up gum the one that has the gel inside, they too have not crap in it. 100% sugar based gums. I look every time I go out to see if Wrigley's changed back to regular but NOPE. |

Those have to be old packs, because all Wriggly gum now contains aspartame and acesulfame (I wanna live forever). |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 702811 United States 06/14/2009 08:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Once in awhile I get C. Howard's Scented Gum (when I can find it). I love the flavor. I've also tried Glee Gum, and it's okay, but the flavor doesn't last long. At least it doesn't contain aspartame. I was so upset to learn that Yoplait puts it in their yogurt. I won't be buying it any longer, and I'm going to let them know. |

Quoting: Angel Girl 614217here's what's bad: aspartame splenda acesulfame K xylitol and here's what's good: sugar. some gums that don't have the bad, but have the good? Bubble Yum. no matter what flavor. Fruit Stripe :) Glee gum. ( [link to www.gleegum.com] i'm still looking for others. but don't settle for anything less than sugar. :) Dear Sam I am, It is not green eggs and ham but close: Sugar will no longer be good unless organic cane as sugar now has been passed to be genetically modified from the evil M company and has it the food supply as of Jan. this year. Angel FYI, I only chew Glee gum as all lthe others have a form of aspartame. Regarding Sugar --- my understanding is that M as in *onansto are only GMO'ing the sugar beet variety of sugar not sugar from sugar cane. So, remember when buying sugar at your grocery store, look that it says from "cane" as in sugar cane - otherswise it is from beet sugar which is quickly becoming almost exclusively GMO variety. |

Got sugar ant problems in your house? Spring some aspertame in a few corners and along the floor boards and your ant problem will probably disappear. The aspertame works as an ant killer but because it happens to be sweet tasting Rumsfeld and others made SURE humans get to "enjoy" it too! |

Even more insulting, a lot of these gums contain butylated hydroxytolulene/BHT, a preservative which is almost as poorly tested as the artificial sweeteners. |

I also find that most, if not all juice mixes contain one of these artificial sweeteneres. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 436548WTFWTWTFWTWTFWTFFFFFFFF~!???? I found the Celestial Seasonings zinger mixes good tho. the only gum i know with no sweeteners is Doublemint, but it got sugar in it. artificial sweeteners are shit, they give you a migraine. companies like wrigleys dont care though, they can use natural sweeteners like xylitol but they give us aspartame cos its cheaper for them. :( |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 760139 United States 01/27/2010 04:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First I quit buying gum with aspertame. Then I quit buying anything with artificial dyes and that means there is not one gum in the stores I can buy. So, I have to go to the healthfood store and get either Glee or Spry. Spry flavor lasts longer, but Glee has a lot of yummy flavors. |

I found the Celestial Seasonings zinger mixes good tho. i'm with you. i cannot believe that non-sugar-free gum has fukkin' aspartame in it! WTF?!? i just don't buy it at all. if a product has any of the following in it, i will not buy it: aspartame whatever that shit splenda is made of high fructose corn syrup monosodium glutamate nitrates/trites cochineal (bugs!) lard saccharine btw, coke has begun replacing hfcs with sucrose; anybody else notice this happening? i think it's because tsghtf in a while as the hfcs/juvenile diabetes link becomes stronger. I'm with you, however I do sometimes buy Coke from a Mexican market because it's imported and made with sugar. Walmart carries them too, they are in the glass bottles, I think in the ethnic section. Even the Mexicans are smart enough to know HFCS is horrendous poison yet "educated" America is not. Sad! Tried Splenda, makes me nauseous everytime. Not a good sign. I love the sodas made with Stevia, I think they are called Zevia. I know you can buy them off Amazon.com too. |

Wrigley's gum: juicy fruit, spearmint, doublemint - all have aspartame. Sick, isn't it? The other day I was trying to find yogurt without that toxin aspartame, I finally found some. I wanted to find the packaged drink flavoring that you can put in a bottle of water and shake it up. It ALL has aspartame. Needless to say, I didn't buy any. |
