Why is there any argumentation about this? That is silly. Every single poster here can step outside and check if its valid or not.

Let's see some results of those tests, not more flinging feces at each other

Well I don't know what's going on but when I moved into my house, the north side of my hen house never got any sun. I had to change all the(sun loving) plants I put there. I have had shade plants there for 6 yrs now, all was well. Last year, maybe the year before that, I noticed certain plants getting burned and and had to move some out. This year it is almost fully in the sun for about 6 or more hrs a day. I have the sun plants back in now. fwiw

I always find it interesting when I remark in my mind that the sun seems somewhat farther north than it should be (it sets behind mountains here and so we have markers to go by, ie: which mountains is it setting behind)and then the next day there is a post like this.

I do think you are right.

Those who fight so hard against Op's postulation must be protecting something.

Otherwise, why wouldn't they just let OP alone?

If OP is crazy, then why don't you just let her howl at the wind.

Debunkers always reinforce my opinion that there's truth about.

But you won't simply ask an astronomer and find out the truth. No body is "fighting so hard". We are simply offering the observation that the OP is making an absurd claim with ZERO supporting evidence.

Just "step outside"? You think that everyone knows, just by looking, whether the Sun is where it belongs? No, they don't. That is why people are making all these silly "Sun out of place" claims. They have no idea where the Sun should be.

So let me get this straight if somebody makes a claim it's automatically correct?

No proof no evidence just correct?

A poster provided you a way to provide evidence one way or the other but the claimant doesn't use it to make a case?

OK I go for that!

THE SUN IS TOO FAR SOUTH AND IS RISING 8 HOURS TOO EARLY!

There you go it's said so it has to be true and that makes the OP a debunker!

Personally, I don't give a shit either way.

Neither should you when somebody makes a post. What do you think this is - a science forum? It's freakin GLP. If somebody wants to claim something - so be it.

Believe, don't believe, move along, whatever.

BTW, who is the "WE" that you speak about?

All I know is that where I live, in the southern US, we've set a new record each day of June for temperature. Go back and check any record books to find out how common that is - NOT. 10 days straight of new heat records. Nearly 100 each day of June. That is the FACT. That is verifiable. So, something is up with the Sun and personally, I'm open to all explanations.

Isn't that the truth... hiding

Yes, a fine example of logic. We should test all theory this way.

Make up some "bunk" and if debunkers show up, then it must be true...brilliant.

If it's so obvious that she's full of bunk, then why do we need you?

"Need" us? Well, you don't unless you want to know the truth. Your choice as to what you "need".

Why do you need to prove anything?

That is how Human inquiry works. We like to "prove" things. Not you? You just like to imagine things that are fun and then just go with that? Do you like to imagine you can fly and then jump off high places? How is that working out for you?

Yep that is pretty much it.. NO interest, no interest in the mind games you play.. both boring and way over done.

I've lived here for 20+

So, why don't you prove to me that historically, it's normal to have 100 degrees for the first ten days of June.

Just give up Jackass, you tried to make a point and failed because you didn't gather all the pertinent information before drawing your conclusion.

Oh yes. I got second degree burns on my nose in May
in Wisconsin. That is unheard of for these parts. I grew up in Cali and the sun was much stronger there and it was hard
to get a tan in Wi. Well, now you can. In a much shorter period of time, I might add. Somethings up.

Horse apples.

I lived in Wisconsin (back in the late 60's and early 70's) and I got massive sunburn on a few summers back then. Yes in Wisconsin. Yes blisters. Yes I was taken to ER due to the extent of the Sun burn.

Re: I've been through the desert on a thread with no name
Dude, It was viewing the ships as they left the harbor and people noticed they could only see the top half after some distance occurred between the viewer and the ship.

THAT, is what started the question "Is the world really flat or is it rounded?"

A simple observation lead to the discovery of the world being round, spherical.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

Exactly. A VERIFIABLE, REPEATABLE observation.
Everybody can climb a tree and discover he can see farther now.
That is the scientific method at work.

And tell me, what scientific instruments back then were used to calculate the earths shape? Their brains, and it was a bunch of sailors that actually lead the discovery. A bunch of alcoholic sailors.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

They used the sun, a stick, and a tool called mathematics.

Don't smear the sailors. They did a hard and dangerous job.
One requiring considerable intelligence.

AND, those who 1st supported the idea the world was rounded were ridiculed constantly, they were socially unaccepted.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

Do you have any evidence to support that claim?

It was not scientists today who made the discovery then.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

No, it was scientists then. As was stated.

In fact, the Greeks before Columbus's time new the world was round.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

So did the Arabs, Indians, and Chinese. (To name a few.)
During the Middle Ages most educated people where aware that the Earth was a sphere.
BTW, Columbus was wrong. He thought that the circumference of the Earth was 25,255 kilometres at most.

The church was suppressing the idea from the public.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

Do you have any evidence to support that claim?
(I'm sure DrPostman will be here shortly with a load of links to proof that just isn't true. It's a pet peeve of his.)

Just like TPTB are suppressing knowledge now!
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

Do you have any evidence to support that claim?

Educate yourself.
 Quoting: Schmieder 324203

Ditto.
