UC Berkeley: "The Coming Collapse of the Middle Class" [Televised Lecture]
Doom Prediction From a Scholar-

Video description: "Distinguished law scholar Elizabeth Warren teaches contract law, bankruptcy, and commercial law at Harvard Law School. She is an outspoken critic of America's credit economy, which she has linked to the continuing rise in bankruptcy among the middle-class." Approximately three minutes of further credentials are presented by UC Dean Mary Ann Mason at the beginning of the video.

Re: UC Berkeley: "The Coming Collapse of the Middle Class" [Televised Lecture]
For anyone who wants a little more information before watching the lecture, this Harvard professor, researcher and analyst (scholar), invited to speak at Berkeley, spends the first portion presenting statistical data representing the differences in the middle class finances over the past thirty years, demonstrating a dramatic, dangerous trend which shows no probability to halting - but only shows further trouble, potentially resulting in the US becoming a third world nation itself (should the trend continue for a great deal longer). Not yet sure how it ends (still watching). Obvious what the conclusion is though, considering the title of the lecture and where she's going with it.

Saddening to reflect on what the world was like in the seventies, what it has devolved into, and what the future has in-store for us should this trend continue...which it probably will, hence Russia's President Medvedev recently making several comments about the need to prepare for a world economy without America being involved, seeing as they expect us to lose our shirts...pants, homes, cars and lives before too long.

And do keep in mind that Dr Warren *is* an authority on this subject, and beyond that, she's backing herself up with mainstream accepted government statistics throughout the entire lecture, and beyond that, everything she's saying everyone here would understand, agree with, and is even aware of it. This isn't baseless conjecture, and would make for a fine segment of a financial version of Loose Change, demonstrating a portion of what appears to be our coming of a societal collapse.

It's simple, obvious stuff - common sense - which we just tend not to contemplate or reflect on.

Excellent analysis of what has happened. It leaves me as a viewer wondering "why".

I suspect the answer has to do with bogus inflation numbers and a much larger population competing for finite resources (nice homes in safe neighborhoods with good schools, the lowest per-capita numbers of practicing physicians and hospital beds of any developed country, thanks to the AMA).

Middle class has already collapsed, just some are out of the denial loop more than others.
