And why would you want to smoke in your car while you have children on board?
I'm a smoker, but I sure dont smoke around kids. Bad example, and possibly bad second hand effects. Sure some people question second hand smoking.. but these are kids we're talking about.. better safe than sorry. |

I don't smoke infront of my little girl,never have,dont smoke in my house either .she suspects I smoke obviously .in uk u can get points on your license and a fine.the gov here uses safety to get round it.basically if you have a cig in your hand you can't be in control off your steering wheel |

Here in Illinois they outlawed smoking within 15 feet of a restaurant.....that includes the drive-thru , so your not allowed to smoke in your car , by yourself, with the windows rolled up while your waiting in the drive-thru lane.
Also if you are inside the restaurant and want to step out to have a smoke (while waiting for your order to arrive) not only do you have to be at least 15 feet from the building, if there are any outside tables , or our drive through lanes , you have to be fifteen feet from them too EVEN IF YOUR INSIDE YOUR CAR WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP.
Because of the harsh weather this area gets ,a popular restaurant(Fast Eddies) made an outdoor pavilion for smokers, built it 15 feet away from the restaurant, the state declared that even though this building had no walls, its an indoor environment and it possible a non-smoker may want to stand in it while eating...so no smoking allowed in the smokers pavilion
I don't smoke, but I think its ridiculous that the laws have reached this point |

When they ban it from my HOUSE, I will have cause for concern.....that may be next!
Will I have to prove I don't have any of my children still at home? Will I have to CLOSE all my windows so as not to affect the general public? Will I then be forced to buy some kind of suction machine to blow into to contain it?
I'm old enough now....hopefully I won't see that day! |

This is awesome!
It sickens me to see people smoking in their cars with an infant in the back and the windows rolled up.
The fact that people do this to children or ANYONE scares the shit out of me AND I smoke!
In Washington state we have a no smoking within 25ft of an entrance to any building. again i think this is great!
Even though i smoke i don't want to walk out of a store or restaurant and get hit in the face by a bunch of smokers and thats about courtesy.
By all means smoke the f*ck up but KEEP YOUR SMOKE TO YOURSELF! and keep it away from children especially.

Good!!! I hated when my dad smoked around me. Ban smoking entirely! All those cig butts just litter the ground also. There are absolutely no benefits of smoking anymore. People who smoke just look stupid and they stink. |

Seems I remember a place in California that was tryin to pass (or did) a law that banned smoking in your apartment or condo because peolpe living around you could smell it and figured you were infringing on their rights as nonsmokers. Maybe someone else remembers or lives in that area that knows better or I guess it could be googled.
I can see with the kids in the car it's not to smart or healthy to do to them, but damn...we have to have another law to tell us something that should be common sense. It all fits today though as it seems that sooooo many people just don't care about anything anymore except their own selfish wants. So now we have to have the bleeders in gov. that have been poisening us and our kids with their chemical laden food telling us not to fuck up our kids. It just never ends...We are so FUCKED

When I was a kid (a long time ago when we were free), both of my parents smoked in the car. It did us no harm. All three of us grey-haired panthers are still alive and kicking!
