Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Leaked Radioactive Water, 14 million times above acceptable levels, into the soil adjacent to the ocean.
The leaked water flowed into the soil from a device used to purify nuclear-contaminated water from cesium and strontium.

The concentration of radioactive substances in the water that leaked from the Fukushima-1 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) amounts to 22-billion becquerels ( equal to one atomic nucleus decay per second) with 1,500 becquerels being the maximum allowable limit.

According to its TEPCO (the nuclear facility’s operating company) data, 5.5 tons of water leaked out. The water flowed into the soil from a device used to purify nuclear-contaminated water from cesium and strontium. According to the report, the ocean was not contaminated.

[Keep in mind, water poured onto the soil, migrates down until it hits groundwater, which in the case of soil adjacent to the ocean, can be from inches to a few feet; however, if the so-called soil is actually rock, the contaminated water will flow on top of the rock toward a lower elevation, like say the adjacent ocean. The Fukushima power plant platforms, where the nuclear waste tanks are located, are approximately 70-90 feet above sea level, and is largely soil, but may contain some rock as well. Either way, the contaminated water will leach into the ocean in short order]
