"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Some seem to be in this content stage of everyone is out to get me. The reason my life is like this is because, so and so did this to me. Sigh. People need to take some responsibility for their lives, be accountable. You are what you see yourselves has. :kitten on fence: |

TM62 User ID: 1427703 United States 07/11/2011 12:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First you gotta admit you are a victim. That is a rough one. Who wants to admit that this is all their fault or take personal responsibility seriously! You sat right on your butt and let someone else run "everything" for you. This is what got all of us into this mess. I have faults, I have nothing to hide, I did do a couple of stupid selfish things when I was a child, but I ask forgiveness for those things of my Creator and no one else. Just because no one pays attention doesn't mean WE are not aware of what is going on behind the curtain. We have all known about it and read about it, watched movies about it, for generations (Like SS stated)! Wake up and grow the spine like Creation intended, we are supposed to be upright beings, not bent over with someone "pushing" us from behind. Let us all not allow this any longer! If you like this sort of treatment you will be drawn to it and others will be drawn to you, like attracts like. If you intend to let someone else continue to run your world, then that is the way it will be, we are allowing it. Truthfully you know what I mean, this is the time for human beings to become what our Creator intended, divine beings able to make decisions for ourselves, FREEWILL! We have given away our freewill so we are not responsible for anything, so we can have scapegoats. We blame our parents, politicians, siblings, job or our society. Time to own up. I will be there to. I am by no stretch of the word perfect, but I am willing to say that I am working on it, REALLY! That way what ever happens to me I cannot blame anyone else. It would be nice to say hey I'm sorry that was my fault I was preoccupied or didn't see you, or I wasn't thinking or maybe say hey I am only in this for ME, that way we can understand where you are coming from! I/We have many other faults that we tend to blame someone else because it is convenient and easier than living up to your God given glory. Quit being lazy and do something for yourselves, let us prove these evil doers wrong and show them we do have compassion for the rest of the world and ourselves, and that we care about all beings God created for the awesome earth we live on. Love and blessings to all of you. Be were you need to be, don't control anyone. Live and let live as the saying goes. "So rise up and take responsibility for your life. Cast the disempowering thought contextualized in that of being a victim. In so doing you put the control of your life, your spirit, back in your hands." Thank you SS, This is for you! Pharista User ID: 1447659 07/11/2011 01:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For AC above, have you read the book 'Mans search for meaning' by Victor Frankl? He is a holocaust survivor and a psychologist - he went on to write of his experiences and how even after everything had been taken physically from him and food and water deprived as well as dignity etc, he realised that he still had choices about the way he thought and what he could mentally and spiritually hang on to to see him through the most atrocious of abuses. Essential reading for any recovering victim imo. |

Quoting: SickScentI had a situation where in a math class, the teach got something wrong and in the process, lost me. I told him I couldn't figure out why, but the answer wasn't right so he went back to the beginning and worked it again from there, to then find the mistake. He erased from there down and redid that portion, to end up with the correct answer. While I'm the first to say that you never point the finger until you can say why something is wrong and then what is correct, I couldn't that time and that happens to me sometimes but the most interesting thing that occurred, is someone in the class exclaimed: "Man! Why'd you dew that? I was just getting it!" They weren't getting it when the Teacher was Right but they did get it when He was Wrong. Get the picture? Why'd you dew that? I was just getting it!" So, as the analogy goes, in your opinion, am I the teacher that is getting it right, so they are wrong? Or am I getting it wrong, so they think they are getting it right, but in reality are getting it wrong, because I was wrong in the first place? |
