Had me going for a minute, but I did my homework.

As much as I'm prepared and expecting doom sometime soon, the solar eclipses of the past had nothing to do with earthquakes.

New Madrid was a full 3 months after the eclipse and other historic total eclipses had nothing to do with earthquakes, really. Look it up yourself.

I DO believe there will be so many people traveling to see this one, the roads will be fucked and long lines at lots of businesses at he time many schools are getting out for the day.

I'm considering taking the day off if it's a clear day, partly to enjoy the eclipse and part to stay the hell off the road.

I dunno. ALL of S. Illinois has names like that, so do places in Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio and throughout the Bible belt. Little Egypt was so named because during a drought year, S. Illinois had a bumper crop of grain which they shipped upstate and saved the state's farmers. That's why it's called little Egypt. The name stuck.

Not buying this at all. If I'm wrong, will be happy to revisit this page and say so. But there are so many Biblical and devil names due to some story in the past. When they named those towns, the majority of people were Bible reading believers in Christ who thought about the subjects in the Bible and who believed in it.

I'm not sure I understand either, but here is what pulled up.
The Moon's orbit is titled 5 degrees to Earth's orbit around the Sun. Therefore a solar eclipse is a relatively rare phenomena and a Total or Annular eclipse even more rare, with the Hybrid eclipse the rarest of all.

I'm right in the path of totality and even my tiny town is blasting warnings all over to stock up on food, water, meds, pet supplies, etc.to last 2 weeks. Saying roads may be impassable due to traffic, etc. Kind of has me worried.

n 1811, there were two significant solar eclipses. The first was a total solar eclipse on June 16, 1811, visible in parts of South America, Africa, and the southeastern United States. The path of totality passed through Brazil, the Atlantic Ocean, West Africa, and ended in the southeastern United States.

Same here! Going to have a great view here in NE TX. The fear porn is off the charts on this one suggesting the eclipse will come and go uneventfully. I've learned from the last several years that human beings as a whole have little to no ability to use their intuition any longer, and their futures are almost completly dictated by suggestions through media.
