Sorry for the triple post...

I just thought you had a stutter. No biggy.

ROFL - our other car is a Hyundai- I like the warranty on it. It's been a great car (minivan.)

I wonder about Hondas though - 3 years, 36k miles.

Anyone ever buy something from Carmax?

You know what's really sharp is the 2009 Honda Pilot... I don't know that I can talk my wife into it.

Plus, 30k is a lot to spend on a car.

gawd .... if you have 30k to spend .. get a prius

My god, why? The Pious looks like a baboon's bottom, in fact I would rather look at a baboon's bottom, is skow, handles like a dying elephant, is glacially slow, is as complex as the IRS code, and is going to cost a buttload of money in a few years when the batteries go toes up.

But it makes people THINK they are doing the Right Thing, which makes them feel better, and after all, isn't feeling better the whole point.

Well.....no, actually, but the empty headed compassion facists and environmentalists don't know any better.

great car ... fun to drive

I'm an early adopter

handles great, dc motors makes it fast fast fast, I studied in school so I can figure out how to drive it, batteries will be much cheaper when they need replacing

it's a great car to travel with for two people

methinks you are PMSing today
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is MOD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Bottom line is, only fools buy new cars.
Let the first sucker take the hit.
Then buy the barely broke in car for a song.

Every car is a rolling total just waiting to happen.

No, I just don't like the hype over the Pious.

Now when I AM PMSing, and it (or at least the male analog) does happen my favorite cure involves taking by 1965 Shelby Cobra MkIII out and search for a Pious at the stoplight, I prefer those with leftist bumper stickers.

Pull up next to them and give the gas a little blip (it doesn't take more than a couple of gallons of gas to do this) and wait until the sound of seven liters of American iron barks through five inch diameter open sidepipes penetrates the wall of smug and ignorance that pervades many a Pious driver and wait for them to look to their side and see THE FUCKING ANTICHRIST shaking away in the next lane.

Cures the nasty attitude in a heartbeat!

Seriously, I am sure you think the Pious is fast, and handles well, but by my standards it is a slug that should be only driven by Algore as he is driven off to a reeducation camp where he will be indroctinated with the basics of high school math and physics so he will have a faint glimmer of exactly how big a twit he is.

Shoot, I have a 1990 Miata that I picked up for a cool grand which, after 120,000 miles, still runs wonderfully, handles well, stops well, costs next to nothing to insure (hell, ANYTHING costs next to nothing to insure after you get a policy on a 65 Cobra!) and can, if I keep it under 6,000 PRM, deliver 40 MPG. I can pay for the fuel for a LOT of miles on the Miata for what you paid for a Pious.

Oh yes, ever look at the REAL energy cost for a Pious? It is hideous. But it makes some Feel Better, so it must be the Right Thing....

Look into leasing, then you can walk away from the payment in 2 years..

And if you have your own busines, or open one, write of the lease from the business...

That is the truth !! I've seen them around here.

(It's spelled MARQUIS) I think. Anyhow, they're almost always white.

And they just run and run and run.

I do own a business, but I've been told unless you do a lot of traveling with the business, you shouldn't lease one through the business, as it doesn't meet IRS requirements.

I assume that is correct information.

I had thought about just doing a lease personally. It may not be the worst option, although I don't feel like plunking any money/security deposit down.

thanks!
