At Chipotle, we're not only committed to making real food from real ingredients that you can pronounce but also raising the bar for locally sourced produce and responsibly raised animals. We source cheese and sour cream from pasture-raised cows that are never administered rBST, and meats from animals that have no added hormones and that do not receive antibiotics. [link to newsroom.chipotle.com (secure)] ^They are "No antibiotics ever" in their meat (except pork, which you shouldn't be eating anyway). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 86412976 Not any more. Read the article. That comment refers to Chipotle NOT chick-fil-A. Read the comment it points to in the very first word. See above. Do you not understand what you're reading? |

In my flock I do give antibiotics but only to the specific bird that needs them for that emergency. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75615959 This is how it should be |

PEACE_IN_UKRAINE User ID: 83984862 United States 03/26/2024 08:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They should give their consumers a choice. This is one reason consumers go to Chik-fil-A instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken or Churches Chicken. Trying to say that the antibiotics are not the same as those used in humans is dicey at best. This is the game Cick-fil-A is playing with consumers. Let me give an two examples: 1. Doxycycline is used in humans. Monocycline is generally not. But they are very similar to each other structurally and interns of the types of bacteria they kill. If it is not commonly used in humans, Chik-fil-A will allow it in chickens. 2.Arsenic is an antibiotic that the FDA allows in chickens. It is not used in humans obviously since it is a poison. But it is perfectly allowed by the FDA. Though it has a low absorption through the intestines, some does get through and is found in the muscle of chickens. THIS IS A PROVEN FACT. We all know the game the chicken producers will play. They will use the most effective antibiotic on the list that is not commonly used in humans. The most effective is the one that kills the most bacteria in the chickens because this is the one that yields the most weight gain. In chicken production it is all about weight gain in the shortest period of time. Does this new ruling mean Cik-fil-A is allowed to use Arsenic in chicken? , They should make sure NO ANTIOBIOCS of any kind are used 2 weeks prior to the final production phase. This means as a rule of thumb, most "antibiotic" and its metabolites are excreted from the system of the chicken. Otherwise, humans will be eating these antibiotics that are not designed for humans!! We have these things called “Gambel’s Quail” in the desert, otherwise known as Desert Chickens. We actually get about 50 in the yard every morning since we throw out food for them. That and tons of wild rabbits. If it becomes necessary, they would be a good protein source. Tons of burros/donkeys too. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73811598 Also animal antibiotics are different than human antibiotics, and some animal antibiotic will not work on humans. Don't eat undercooked meat, ever! Animal antibiotics were once human antibiotics but stopped being effective. Because of over use. Dr’s handed them out for every runny nose and the bacteria became immune to them. |

The fast food restaurant chain will use antibiotics to produce its chicken starting this spring, the company said in a statement. That’s a reversal from 2014, when Chick-fil-A pledged to go antibiotics-free. Quoting: Fast 'n Bulbous Georgia-based Chick-fil-A said in a new statement that it is does not plan to use “antibiotics that are important to human medicine” or that are “commonly used to treat people.” But the company said it will use “animal antibiotics” that are commonly used to treat sick animals, including chickens. Chick-fil-A pledged to stop using antibiotics in producing its chicken in 2014. While the company’s latest move breaks from that decision a decade ago, Chick-fil-A said it will only serve chicken that is“real” and that has “no added fillers, artificial preservatives or steroids.” [link to qz.com (secure)] Phizer jabs? |
