Nordic female, best friend is African American.
I find I've had much more interesting discussions with him than I've ever had with white males.
There have been some minor cultural differences that it took both of us awhile to indentify...but it's cool.

Interracial relationships ? People are people are people. There are cultural differences (heck - there are regional differences, gender differences, language differences, etc), -- and learning about those differences (without judgment and with respect) is pretty neat. We all got here the same way, we are all leaving the same way. Enjoy and celebrate the life between the times with others as much as you can. |

Because you feel 'more respect' and that makes you feel more self-confident, somehow in a very subtle way, 'superior'?. It gave me the impression (I might be wrong) that you are a little condescending when explaining how the girls right to your 'white' world.

If you love a woman, it shouldn't matter what your family (or hers) thinks as long as you treat each other right. Everyone has to leave home and fend for themselves eventually and if parents threaten to disown you for dating outside your race, you're probably better off on your own anyway. |

Actually no.. I've felt pretty confident even when I was alone. I wasn't looking for a girl.. it just happened. Matter of fact we're still getting to know each other but we're pretty close. As you could imagine, I also feel some more anxiety because there will always be someone who wants to knock me for having a black girl. I got enough respect from the people I know already, but I was just stating something I noticed.

Amazing Murakami.. .. ..especially after like, smoking marijuana. She doesn't though... which I think sucks but I respect w/e.
Anyway, as I was high and very meticulous while looking around @ all the people whilst outside (smoke breaks, have a friend doing security so we go out on his breaks)... ...I noticed the MAJORITY of all couples were interracial (ALL races). It made my mind explode (in a good way) because I think it gave me more faith in humanity witnessing that. 80% of all the ladies were wearing high heels, or very tight/revealing clothing -- ah damn, the black girls were just dimes. I even tell her this, because I don't wanna hide my thoughts.. she seems to deal w/ it. Lol. I was pretty rough and aggressive with her too & she seemed to like it.
And it's a definite fact that you're looked upon differently by society if you're with someone of another race. I think it's just automatic brainwashed thoughts. It's so easily noticeable when you're high though. Normally, you're not focusing on these things.
I just keep remembering all the black girls w/ the white guys, black guys with the white girls (mad funny, one came up to ask for a smoke, and the white girl yelled @ him and commanded him and he followed....; I'm quite sure they did that on purpose though... because they saw us or heard us talking about it.. or maybe not, which then would be really funny). Asian girls w/ all sorts of races. Asian guys with black girls.
I think it's fucking GREAT. A lot of love in the air over there. "Witnessed" a lot smoking marijuana or just being high. A LOT of uniformed and undercover police - but they were just happily mingling with everyone.
Yeah.. fucking rant.. whatever.

It's fashionable, Just do not choose someone of youre own race or culture. You could be looked down on and not fit in. If you watch television, it will assist in guiding you in selecting someone outside your own race. |

It always is best to distrust "mainstream point of view" as a matter of course, given the historical effects of said point of view. And currently multiculturalism and tolerance is rammed down our throats so...
When people mix there is a homogenisation process. The idiosyncracies of different groups are lost. This concerns me because it seems the human race is losing capability. An idiosyncratic few not the masses are responsible for development of society.
There is also a loss of genetic diversity due to hybridization. This is important to the human future just as to the future of wheat or potato crops.
But considering humanities' future is not fashionable either. |
