Something is eating my poor plants!
Quote

I think a poor stray? bunny maybe eating my plants. I've seen it running around and eating most of the weeds but never plants.

I never see a mother, which makes me think its a stray and got no way to eat.

Any suggestions? This is my first time with a yard. We do have deer that come in occasionally but I have a feeling it might be the bunny. Its taken out 4 plants so far!

My girlfriend feels sorry for the poor thing. Maybe leave it some food at night?

I had the same thing, the rabbits ate my violet leaves...go get some blood meal at the hardware store and sprinkle it around what you dont want them to eat...it will repel them...

Blood meal is a powdery substance made from blood and bones, so make sure to wear a mask when applying it so you don't inhale it.

Some made cow disease cases found in humans was traced back to their using blood meal on their roses.

Hmmmmm, since you can't kill the prions in mad cow disease, I'd be really carefull about putting it around my "plants" especially if their edible or a garden. Heck why bring that stuff onto you property period!

Try Peeing around your garden. It works and saves water!

Many years ago I met a couple in Southern Oregon who grew Cannabis on BLM land. Their solution to deer eating their plants was to sprinkle used kitty litter around the base of those plants.

Supposedly, the deer thought that a cougar was nearby, and would avoid Cannabis so treated.

No idea if that would work with rabbits, but you might give it a try. I don't think used kitty litter would be very expensive ....

I'd go for chicken wire around the plants. If you choose to feed it, be careful. Wild rabbits can carry diseases that are contagious to humans. Of course if it's wild it probably won't let you get close to it anyway.

"Scoot" is an excellent product for getting rid of animals, just spray it on the leaves and they wont touch them.

Get a cat.

My cat eats any bunny's that dare eat my garden plants. She leaves the legs for me for some reason. Maybe as a lucky rabbits foot?
